Ho Chi Minh City leaders visit and extend New Year greetings to the staff of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper.

On the afternoon of February 15th, a delegation of Ho Chi Minh City leaders, led by Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, visited, extended New Year greetings, and encouraged the staff, reporters, and workers of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper (SGGP) who are on duty during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.

Accompanying the delegation were comrades: Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Le Van Minh, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and Nguyen Hoang An, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

The delegation was received by journalist Nguyen Khac Van, Acting Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper, and Deputy Editors-in-Chief: Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Pham Van Truong, Bui Thi Hong Suong, Truong Duc Nghia, and Le Minh Tung.

During the visit, the Acting Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper reported on the newspaper's activities over the past year, focusing on improving the quality of journalistic content, developing the newspaper's economic aspects , and post-print programs; he also shared the newspaper's major directions for 2026 and the following years.

Accordingly, the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper (SGGP) remains steadfast in its principles and objectives, fulfilling its political mission; constantly innovating and modernizing its content and format, strengthening the application of technology, expanding its digital media platform, and promoting post-print activities and programs to spread widely throughout the country. Journalist Nguyen Khac Van emphasized: "Wherever there are the public, wherever there are readers, there is the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper."

On behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City leadership, Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc acknowledged and commended the efforts of the staff, reporters, and editors of the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper for overcoming difficulties and successfully completing their tasks. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse), he extended his best wishes to the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper's journalists, wishing them good health, unwavering spirit, and confidence in undertaking their duties in this new development phase; and encouraging them to continue building a united and harmonious team, worthy of the trust and affection of the city's officials, Party members, and people.

Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc suggested that in the coming period, the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper should focus on investing in digital journalism and a multi-platform media ecosystem; build a streamlined, efficient, and effective organizational structure; and innovate thinking and working methods towards modernization. At the same time, it should promote social activities and programs for students in remote areas to create a strong impact and widespread influence throughout the country.
