At the headquarters of the People's Committee of Thuong Thoi Hau A commune (Hong Ngu district, Dong Thap province), the President visited and presented gifts to poor households, policy families, farmers, workers, and poor children in difficult circumstances in Hong Ngu, Tan Hong districts and Hong Ngu city. The delegation also visited and wished a happy new year to officers and customs staff at Thuong Phuoc International Border Gate (Thuong Phuoc commune, Hong Ngu district).
Here, President Vo Van Thuong expressed his joy and impression with the achievements in socio -economic development of districts and cities, including many important criteria on new rural construction, the poverty rate decreased, people's lives improved, and the atmosphere of community activities was joyful and warm.
The President requested the leaders of Dong Thap province, districts and cities to pay attention to improving the lives of the people, minimizing the number of poor households, striving to have no poor households in the near future; improving cultural and spiritual life, ensuring security and safety of the people. Border districts need to join hands to build a peaceful, cooperative and developing border with Cambodia.
The President hopes that people in border areas will continue to spread the spirit of solidarity, love, sharing, and mutual assistance, promoting the precious traditions of the Vietnamese people.
President Vo Van Thuong also visited and wished a happy new year to officers and soldiers of the Mobile Police Battalion (Dong Thap Provincial Police).
* On the afternoon of January 25, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue visited and presented gifts and New Year greetings to families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services, poor households, victims of Agent Orange, workers and laborers in difficult circumstances in Bac Lieu province.

On January 25, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Mobilization, Management and Use Committee of the Fund "For the Poor" of Ho Chi Minh City received a donation of 1 billion VND from Agribank for the Fund for the Poor of the city.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thanh Trung thanked Agribank for always caring, accompanying, and sharing love with families and people in difficult circumstances during the upcoming Lunar New Year. From this support, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will take care of households in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024 to implement the motto "No household in difficulty will be left without celebrating the traditional New Year of the nation".
* On the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation held the opening ceremony of the 3rd "Workers' Festival - Charity Fair" in the form of an online workers' fair to care for union members and workers in difficult circumstances. This year's charity fair was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op), supporting 11,500 union members with more than 5.5 billion VND.
Accordingly, the online workers' market will take place from January 25 to February 25. The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation will give away 5,000 shopping codes (VND600,000/code) to union members in difficult circumstances. At the market, workers can shop online through Saigon Co.op's website cooponline.vn and receive free home delivery. * From January 25 to February 8, the District 5 Labor Federation (HCMC) coordinated with the e-commerce trading floor of Gogreen House Joint Stock Company to organize an "Online Market" for union members and workers. The District 5 Labor Federation gave away 1,000 shopping codes (worth VND 300,000/code) to union members in difficult circumstances; exemplary union members who are active in labor production. The goods will be packaged and shipped free of charge to the workers' homes.
* On January 25, the Trade Union of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City visited, encouraged and presented Tet gifts to 60 workers in difficult circumstances at Tan Tao Industrial Park (Binh Tan District) and Le Minh Xuan Industrial Park (Binh Chanh District), giving each worker a gift and cash (over 1.1 million VND/gift). These are workers working in enterprises facing difficulties with orders, resulting in reduced income.
