Lao Cai will organize fireworks displays at 11 locations for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.

In order to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere to welcome the new year, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province has announced a plan to organize fireworks displays at 11 locations throughout the province during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.

In document No. 948/UBND-NC dated February 5, 2026, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province agreed to add one more location for fireworks displays during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 in the central area of ​​Mau A commune. Thus, during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, Lao Cai province will organize fireworks displays at 11 locations.

Accordingly, the fireworks displays will be divided into three time slots, spanning from the night of the 29th of the 12th lunar month (evening of February 16, 2026) to the moment of New Year's Eve (00:00 on February 17, 2026).

At the earliest, at 9:30 PM on February 16th , fireworks will light up the sky over Ho Chi Minh Park in Lao Cai Ward - the only starting point during this time slot, marking the beginning of the province's all-night fireworks display.

From 10:00 PM on the same day , the next 7 fireworks displays will be held simultaneously at the following locations: Yen Hoa Park ( Yen Bai Ward); Dam Voi Park (Tran Yen Commune); Mau A Commune Center; Luc Yen Commune Lakefront; Yen Binh Commune Square; Bao Thang Commune Center and Yen Bai Riverside Urban Area (Au Lau Ward).

Precisely at midnight on February 17, 2026 , fireworks will simultaneously explode at three locations: 19/8 Square (Yen Bai Ward), the Nghia Lo Prison and Fort Historical and Cultural Relic Area, and the Cam Duong Ward Center, marking the transition to the Year of the Horse.

The People's Committee of Lao Cai province requests that relevant agencies, units, and localities proactively coordinate to ensure that fireworks displays are conducted safely and solemnly, serving the people in celebrating the Lunar New Year. People should arrive early at viewing locations to avoid congestion and follow the instructions of the authorities.
