Consulting businesses on the project to convert Tang Loong Industrial Park into an ecological industrial park

Tang Loong Industrial Park is currently the most important chemical - mineral industrial center in the Northern mountainous region. With the characteristic of concentrating many industries that consume large amounts of resources and fuel (electricity, water, Apatite ore, coal, stone), converting Tang Loong Industrial Park to an ecological model is an urgent task, aiming towards the development of a circular economy in Lao Cai province. This characteristic creates a large demand for consumption, while promoting related industries such as thermal power, fertilizer (from Apatite), but also poses great challenges in environmental protection, sustainable resource management and technical infrastructure development.

The project to convert Tang Loong Industrial Park into an ecological industrial park was developed under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee and based on Decree 35/2022/ND-CP of the Government . The project is formed from 08 basic topics, including: Overview of the current situation; overview of the ecological industrial park model; cleaner and resource-efficient production solutions; industrial symbiosis network and monitoring and evaluation tools.

The Economic Zone Management Board consults businesses on the project to convert Tang Loong Industrial Park into an ecological industrial park.

The project to convert an ecological industrial park is expected to bring dual benefits to both the management agency and the business community. For businesses, the project will support cost and input resource savings through the application of clean production; optimize production costs and be supported with preferential mechanisms and policies specifically for ecological businesses and support tools to monitor and reduce emissions right from the source.

For State management, the project helps management agencies to develop a roadmap and solutions to allocate resources to improve infrastructure, policy mechanisms, and accompany businesses in converting to ecological industrial park models. The biggest goal is to reduce _CO2 emissions, contributing to the implementation of Vietnam's Net Zero commitment by 2050.

At the conference, the consulting unit presented core issues related to the goals and criteria set by the State to ensure recognition as an ecological industrial park; the contents and tasks that enterprises must perform; roadmap, progress and implementation methods...

The consultation conference attracted many representatives of highly specialized enterprises and leaders of Tang Loong and Gia Phu communes to contribute practical ideas, helping the project to be completed in the most feasible and effective way, suitable to the actual conditions of the industrial park.

Representatives of businesses operating in Tang Long Industrial Park contributed their opinions to the Project to convert Tang Long Industrial Park into an ecological industrial park.

The Lao Cai Provincial Economic Zone Management Board expressed its confidence that, with the support, responsibility and determination of all levels, sectors and the business community, the project will soon be submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval to implement the transformation goal, contributing to the successful implementation of the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution on developing Lao Cai Industry in the direction of green, modern period 2026 - 2030.
