Attending the ceremony were comrades: Quan Minh Cuong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Be Thanh Tinh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Vu Dinh Quang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Hoang Van Thach, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a department, branch and sector.
The Hong Nam Hydropower Project, invested by Cao Bang Energy Joint Stock Company, is being implemented in Kim Dong commune, Nguyen Hue commune, Tan Giang ward, and Nung Tri Cao ward with an area of 138.4 hectares; total investment of nearly 850 billion VND. Up to now, the project has been basically completed and ready to be put into operation.
With a designed capacity of 24 MW and an average electricity output of 87.85 million kWh/year, when put into operation, Hong Nam Hydropower Plant will supplement a stable power source, connect to the national grid, and contribute to ensuring energy security. Every year, the project is expected to contribute more than 20 billion VND to the local budget from taxes and fees; create jobs for local workers, promote service and trade development, and at the same time, improve infrastructure and improve the lives of people in the project area.
At the ceremony, delegates performed the ceremony of attaching a signboard to welcome the 20th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030; visited the Hydropower Plant area and the operating process, preparing to connect to the grid in the coming time.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Quan Minh Cuong emphasized that the Hong Nam Hydropower project is a project built with 100% private capital, affirming the spirit of innovation, boldness and accompanying the sustainable development orientation of the province. The project is located in a strategic space connecting the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway, Chu Trinh industrial park, Hong Nam - Kim Dong area, promising to create a new driving force for the local economy .
In order for the project to generate electricity soon, it is recommended that the investor continue to complete the work contents; the Party committees and authorities of relevant communes and wards step up propaganda and mobilization, ensuring the legal and legitimate rights of the people, all for the common development.
On this occasion, the province awarded 1 billion VND in funding to support the renovation and repair of schools in Kim Dong and Canh Tan communes. Cao Bang Energy Joint Stock Company awarded 90 million VND in funding to support the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses for 3 households in Kim Dong commune and presented 150 gifts to the Tan Giang Ward, Kim Dong and Nguyen Hue Education Promotion Funds for studious children.
