San Chay people's harvest festival - Thai Nguyen

The Harvest Festival is a long-standing traditional spiritual and cultural ritual of the San Chay ethnic group, mainly concentrated in communes of Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province (such as Tuc Tranh, Yen Ninh, Yen Do, Yen Lac, Phu Do). The festival was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2018.

The harvest festival is one of the ancient spiritual cultural rituals of the San Chay people. Every year, before or after the Lunar New Year, the San Chay people gather together to worship the gods and the local gods at the village communal house or temple to pray for a new year of favorable weather, good crops, full barns of rice and corn, and prosperous livestock.
