The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize the Hung Kings' Commemoration Festival in 2024 (festival) at the Hung Kings Temple, Phan Ri Cua town, Tuy Phong district.
Accordingly, the festival will take place at 8:00 a.m. on April 18, 2024 (March 10, Giap Thin year), at Hung Kings Temple, Phan Ri Cua town, including the ceremony and the festival. The ceremony will be chaired by Tuy Phong District People's Committee and will be attended by Ham Thuan Bac and Ham Thuan Nam districts. The program includes a procession to welcome the ancestors to Hung Kings Temple; the Provincial Party Secretary (Ceremony Chief) beats the drum to open the festival; leaders of Tuy Phong province and district offer banh chung, banh day and incense to commemorate the Hung Kings; leaders of departments, branches, delegations and people offer incense to commemorate the Hung Kings; the Hung Kings Temple Ritual Committee performs the Great Sacrifice ritual according to traditional customs.
The festival will organize folk games, cultural and sports activities with the participation of localities in the district and delegations of some districts in the province.
The Hung King Temple in Phan Ri Cua was ranked as a provincial-level art relic by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in 2010. This is the only temple in our province that still preserves quite fully the tangible and intangible cultural values that have been ranked as a relic by the State. In 2016, on the occasion of attending the Hung King's death anniversary in Phu Tho, the Binh Thuan delegation was honored to receive and invite "land, water and incense" to return and the Hung King Temple in Phan Ri Cua town was chosen as the place of enshrinement and worship.
Since 2018, the Hung Kings Temple Festival has become a common festival for the people of the whole province, contributingto educating the tradition and morality of “When drinking water, remember its source”, love for the homeland and country for generations, especially the young generation. At the same time, through the festival, it will consolidate and strengthen the solidarity, cohesion and harmony between the community and ethnic groups in the province; serving labor production, building and defending the Fatherland.
