Organized for the first time, the " World Culture Day in Hanoi" program will feature diverse activities including: World Culture Day, Hanoi International Culinary Program, film screenings, Hanoi International Folk Dance Program, Hanoi International Fine Arts Program, Hanoi International Costume Program/Ao Dai Festival taking place from October 4-5 at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and Hanoi International Book Day taking place from October 4-5 at Hanoi Book Street 19/12.
One of the highlights of the Program is the Opening Ceremony on October 3rd and the Closing Ceremony on October 5th at the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center - Hanoi (Thang Long Imperial Citadel).
The decision to issue the plan for organizing the first "World Culture Day in Hanoi" program has just been signed and approved by the Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Le Hai Binh.
Accordingly, the program is a series of cultural and artistic events in the form of "festivals," with a series of events and activities taking place simultaneously and continuously over the weekend of October 4th and 5th, leveraging the existing cultural institutions of Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and public spaces in Hanoi.
The Ministry's leaders affirmed that organizing "World Culture Day in Hanoi" aims to build an annual international cultural diplomacy event, using "culture as the foundation - art as the means" to connect nations. Through this, it promotes people-to-people exchanges, strengthens mutual understanding and trust between Vietnam and the international community, and enhances the cultural and spiritual life and aesthetic appreciation of the people.
The program also aims to contribute to building a modern cultural and entertainment ecosystem, helping Vietnam catch up with global creative economy trends; strongly stimulate the cultural and tourism industries, create jobs and boost domestic consumption.

The specific goal set by the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is to build an official international cultural exchange platform chaired by Vietnam, creating conditions for Vietnam to demonstrate its proactive role in international cooperation on culture, as well as its capacity to create a cultural arena on an international scale.
In particular, developing the "World Culture Festival in Hanoi" into a regular event coinciding with a significant date in the year for the capital (October 10th) contributes to positioning Hanoi as a center for international cultural exchange, building an international cultural brand for Hanoi; promoting Vietnamese culture and art to the world and learning from international cultural values and essence within the country.
Furthermore, organizing this event also encourages creativity and long-term commitment among participating units, thereby expanding the network of people-to-people diplomacy; creating a space for direct interaction between the Vietnamese public and international friends; and contributing to building the image of an open, friendly, culturally diverse Vietnam that respects differences.
Integrating food spaces, handicrafts, trade stalls, tourism promotion, and interaction between the public and cultural and artistic professionals aims to enhance experiences, support creative businesses, and promote economic development in the capital city.
