Attendees included: Ms. Van Thi Bach Tuyet, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign Steering Committee.
On January 16th alone, at the 2026 Spring Blood Donation Festival, the Organizing Committee received more than 1,000 units of blood.

At the program, Mr. Tran Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign Steering Committee, shared that the city's voluntary blood donation work has been ongoing for over 30 years and is continuously developing, ensuring the blood supply for emergency and treatment needs at hospitals in the city and surrounding areas.
The amount of clean blood received each year is always greater than the previous year. From 1994 to 2025, the entire city has mobilized over 4.5 million units of blood.

In 2025 alone, over 387,670 units of blood were collected and received, reaching 101.17% of the target, meeting the blood needs for emergency and treatment at more than 160 hospitals in the city and supporting some provinces in the Southwestern region. Of this, the percentage of clean blood was 98.87%, and the percentage of 350ml-450ml blood bags reached over 99.59% (the national average is 60%).

Mr. Tran Van Tuan expressed his hope that in 2026, units would intensify efforts to achieve the target of 403,000 units of blood assigned by the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation. Specifically, for the voluntary blood donation campaign during Tet and the Spring Festival (from January 15th to March 15th), it is expected that over 70,000 units of blood will be collected and mobilized.

On this occasion, 40 individuals who have donated blood multiple times and are exemplary in their contributions were honored with Certificates of Commendation from the Prime Minister.
