The award is chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists' Association; Today's Rural Newspaper/Dan Viet and the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (AGribank). By the deadline for receiving entries (November 15, 2025), the Organizing Committee received 1,866 valid entries, including 1,300 print and electronic newspaper entries and 566 radio and television entries, from central and local press agencies and non-professional authors.

The preliminary panel selected 60 works for the final round. The final panel selected 34 best works, including 2 A prizes, 4 B prizes, 6 C prizes, 10 Encouragement prizes and 12 Special prizes.

The Organizing Committee's assessment shows that the majority of entries deeply reflect the transition from traditional agricultural production to a multi-value economic model, green agriculture, and a typical circular economy. There have been many excellent entries focusing on writing and reflecting on the model of a new, civilized, modern farmer, and portraits of outstanding, inspiring Vietnamese farmers.

There are a series of articles expressing the concerns of journalists about the conflicting issues arising in the new context of the current agricultural sector.

Besides those bright spots, journalists also show their dedication, not afraid of hardships and dangers to carry out exclusive "heavyweight" investigative series, determined to shed light on the hidden corners and "dark sides" that exist in the fields of agriculture , farmers, and rural areas.

Editor-in-Chief of Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee Nguyen Van Hoai emphasized that this is the third consecutive year the award has attracted hundreds of press agencies, showing the special appeal of the topic of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas. Journalist Nguyen Van Hoai said that the new rural landscape is "changing strongly", many villages are becoming "worth living" and the image of Vietnamese farmers is increasingly modern, with many billionaire farmers and inventive farmers appearing. The Organizing Committee also acknowledged many quality works that have not been awarded due to structural limitations and will research innovations in the next season.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, journalist Nguyen Van Hoai also sent his thanks to the press agencies, authors, and groups of authors who enthusiastically submitted articles and works to the contest. “We also want to award more prizes, but according to the regulations on the rules, the number and structure of the prizes are limited, so it is very regrettable that there are many quality works, but they did not win the prize this time. Taking into account the opinions of the judges, in the next season, we will continue to research and innovate the rules and structure of the prizes to be able to award more prizes,” journalist Nguyen Van Hoai shared.

In 2025, the press award added a new category: Writing contest to learn about the 95-year tradition of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, launched from April 14 to November 15, 2025. As a result, 11 works were awarded: 1 A prize, 2 B prizes, 3 C prizes and 5 Encouragement prizes.

The writing contest entries exploring the 95-year tradition of the Vietnam Farmers' Association focused on recreating the historical milestones of the Vietnam Farmers' Association from 1930 to 2025; the achievements of the peasant class under the leadership of the Party; and memories of peasant movements through the periods of revolution, resistance, national construction, innovation and integration. Many articles raised the issue of innovating the content and methods of operation of the Farmers' Association in the context of restructuring the administrative apparatus, streamlining and improving effectiveness and efficiency.

Thus, combining both activities, the National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas and the Writing Contest to Learn About the 95-Year Tradition of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, there will be about 45 awards to be honored on the evening of December 5.

According to the Organizing Committee, the total prize of all three categories and genres of the National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas in 2025 and the writing contest to learn about the 95-year tradition of the Vietnam Farmers' Association is 515 million VND.
