Saving electricity for a sustainable green future.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the "Electricity Saving Propagandist 2025" competition, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long stated that, in the current context, energy is the foundation for economic growth and national modernization. The increasing demand for energy, coupled with the global demand for significant emission reductions, forces us to shift from a resource exploitation mindset to one focused on efficient and economical energy use as a cornerstone of the green transition process.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long delivered the opening remarks at the awards ceremony.
Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW of the Politburo clearly defines the task of ensuring a stable and high-quality energy supply for national development, while promoting the application of high-efficiency technologies and energy-saving solutions to reduce consumption and emissions. Along with this, Law No. 77/2025/QH15 amending and supplementing several articles of the Law on Economical and Efficient Energy Use creates a stronger legal framework to promote initiatives and models for efficient energy use from the enterprise level to the community level.
Based on this, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has implemented numerous communication, education, and technical support activities to spread the message of energy saving throughout society. The "Energy Saving Communicator Contest 2025," launched in April 2025, aims to transform the message of energy saving into concrete, creative, and relatable actions for every citizen.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long expressed his appreciation for the positive response from localities, businesses, organizations, and individuals. After more than four months, the competition attracted 130 entries – a result that reflects society's concern and the community's sense of responsibility in practicing electricity conservation. The awarded works not only have artistic and communicative value but also convey a powerful message: every small action makes a big difference in energy saving.
"Based on the results of the competition, I hope that localities, businesses, and the community will continue to make this a regular movement, not only in 2025 but for many years to come. Every kilowatt-hour of electricity saved contributes to the economy, the environment, and the green future of the country," the Deputy Minister emphasized.

The scene at the event
At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is committed to continuing to coordinate with localities, Vietnam Electricity Group, and the business community to expand communication, training, and technical support programs, and encourage initiatives on electricity saving. We hope to create more creative platforms so that every citizen can become an energy saving advocate, contributing to building a culture of efficient and economical electricity use.
The success of today's competition marks the beginning of a new journey. Let's continue to spread the message, replicate the initiative, and transform awareness into practical action. Every family, every organization, and every business acting together will make a significant contribution to ensuring energy security and sustainable development.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long expressed his gratitude to the organizing units, the Organizing Committee, the Judging Panel, the contestants, the press agencies, and the localities that have supported the competition. He congratulated the winning entries and hoped that individuals and organizations would continue to innovate and spread the message of electricity conservation for a Vietnam that uses energy efficiently and sustainably.
Working together towards the goal of efficient energy use.
At the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Editor-in-Chief of the Industry and Trade Newspaper and Deputy Head of the Standing Organizing Committee of the Competition, stated, "We believe this is not just a formality or a slogan-based competition, but more importantly, it aims to spread widely through creative and theatrical forms of expression across print, online, social media, and digital platforms. The most valuable aspect is that the messages must originate from the people, businesses, and electricity customers themselves – those who best understand their needs and how they can contribute."

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Editor-in-Chief of the Industry and Trade Newspaper and Deputy Head of the Standing Organizing Committee of the Competition, delivered a speech.
“After four months of implementation, the competition attracted 130 entries. The Organizing Committee and the Judging Panel worked through three rigorous rounds of judging. From 130 entries, 90 were selected, and then 22 entries advanced to the final round. Although the number of prizes is limited, we believe that all the entries carry profound and meaningful messages, stemming from real-life situations and reflecting the voices of the grassroots,” the leader of the Industry and Trade Newspaper expressed.
In addition, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Van Minh stated that the Organizing Committee considers this year's competition as a starting point. Beginning in 2026, as the whole country enters the new year and implements the Resolution of the 14th National Congress, the issue of energy security, elevated in Resolution 70-NQ/TW, will continue to be thoroughly understood and strongly implemented. In this context, electricity saving and efficient energy use are crucial pillars.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long and Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, presented the Special Award to the representative of the Northern Power Corporation.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to vigorously implement new mechanisms such as the two-component electricity pricing policy and solutions that align with international practices, ensuring fairness, transparency, and efficiency, tailored to different electricity user groups, time slots, and regions.
“Following the success of this year's competition, the Industry and Trade Newspaper and the Electricity Regulatory Authority will continue to organize subsequent seasons. We sincerely hope to continue receiving the support of the media agencies present here today, the electricity sector, and the entire society. Let's work together to spread positive messages to successfully implement Resolution 70, complete the policies and solutions to ensure electricity supply for economic development, promote energy saving and efficiency, and aim for sustainable growth,” the Editor-in-Chief of the Industry and Trade Newspaper confidently stated.
