Save electricity for a sustainable green future
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the "Energy Saving Propaganda Contest 2025", Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long said that in the current context, energy is the foundation for economic growth and national modernization. The increasing demand for energy, while the world has set strong requirements for emission reduction, forces us to shift from the mindset of resource exploitation to the mindset of using energy economically and efficiently as a pillar of the green transition process.

Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW of the Politburo clearly defines the task of ensuring a stable, high-quality energy source for national development, while promoting the application of high-efficiency technology and energy-saving solutions to reduce consumption and emissions. Along with that, Law No. 77/2025/QH15 amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy creates a stronger legal corridor to promote initiatives and models of efficient energy use from the enterprise level to the community level.
On that basis, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has deployed many communication, education and technical support activities to spread the message of energy saving in society. The contest "Electricity saving propagandist 2025" was launched in April 2025 with the desire to turn the message of electricity saving into concrete, creative and close actions for each citizen.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long expressed his appreciation for the positive response from localities, businesses, organizations and individuals. After more than 4 months, the contest has attracted 130 entries - a result that demonstrates the interest of society and the sense of responsibility of the community in practicing electricity saving. The awarded works not only have artistic and communication value but also convey a strong message: every small action makes a big difference in saving energy.
"From the results of the contest, I hope that localities, businesses and the social community will continue to turn this into a regular movement, not only in 2025 but for many years to come. Every kilowatt hour of electricity saved is a contribution to the economy, the environment and the green future of the country," the Deputy Minister emphasized.

At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade also commits to continue to coordinate with localities, Vietnam Electricity Group and the business community to expand communication, training, technical support programs, and encourage initiatives on energy saving. We hope to create more creative playgrounds so that every citizen can become an energy saving propagandist, contributing to building a culture of economical and efficient electricity use.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Editor-in-Chief of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, said that we determined that this is not just a contest for formality or slogans, but more importantly, through creative forms of expression, dramatization, and strong dissemination on print newspapers, electronic newspapers, social networks and digital platforms. The most valuable thing is that the messages must be formed from the people, businesses, and electricity customers themselves, these are the people who understand best what they need and how they can contribute.

“After 4 months of implementation, the contest attracted 130 works. The Organizing Committee and the Jury worked through 3 rounds of very strict judging. From 130 works, 90 were selected, then 22 works entered the final round. Although there were only a limited number of awards, we assessed that the works all had profound and meaningful messages, stemming from real life and the voice of the grassroots,” said the leader of Cong Thuong Newspaper.
In addition, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Van Minh said that the Organizing Committee considers this year's contest as the beginning. Starting from 2026, when the whole country enters the new year and implements the Resolution of the 14th National Congress, the issue of energy security raised in Resolution 70-NQ/TW will continue to be thoroughly grasped and strongly implemented. In particular, saving electricity and using energy efficiently is an important pillar.

At the Award Ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 22 prizes including 1 Special Prize, 2 First Prizes, 3 Second Prizes, 4 Third Prizes, 10 Encouragement Prizes, 1 Prize for the Unit with the most entries, 1 Prize for the Best Costume with a total prize value of nearly 300 million VND.
The award-winning works not only demonstrate outstanding professional quality but also have a special ability to inspire. From stories of saving electricity related to daily life, to initiatives applied to businesses, good models in schools, the works have truly become effective and close propaganda tools for the community.
