Ceremony to depart for the mission of collecting martyrs' remains in the dry season 2024 - 2025

(kontumtv.vn) – On the morning of October 24, the Provincial Steering Committee 515 held a ceremony to send off Team K53 to carry out the mission of searching for, collecting, and repatriating the remains of martyrs, volunteer soldiers, and Vietnamese experts who died during the wars in the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Kingdom of Cambodia in the dry season of 2024-2025. Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Y Ngoc, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 515 of Kon Tum ; Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region V - Colonel Do Thanh Xuan.

In the dry season of 2024 - 2025, the Provincial Steering Committee 515 sent 67 officers, soldiers and staff to carry out the task of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains in three southern Lao provinces: Attapeu, Sekong, Champasak and Ratanakiri province - Kingdom of Cambodia; of which, 32 officers and soldiers performed the task in three southern Lao provinces and 35 officers and soldiers performed the task in Ratanakiri province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Y Ngoc acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and efforts of Team K53 in carrying out the task of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains in Laos and Cambodia in the dry season of 2023 - 2024 with over 16,000 working days and collecting and repatriating 16 martyrs' remains to the country. Up to now, Team K53 has searched for and collected 1,367 martyrs. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested officers, soldiers and employees of Team K53 to continue to uphold the sense of responsibility, solidarity, clearly define goals, determination to strive, overcome difficulties to successfully complete assigned tasks; comply with and respect the customs, practices and culture of local people; contribute to strengthening the relationship, solidarity, friendship and special traditions between the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia forever green, forever sustainable.

On this occasion, the Provincial Steering Committee 515 awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 9 collectives and 23 individuals with achievements in directing, coordinating and implementing the task of searching, collecting and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos and Cambodia in the 2023-2024 dry season./.
