That is the sharing from Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son border gate economic zone (Lang Son province). February 16 on the import and export situation of goods between Vietnam and China through border gates in Lang Son , after the Lunar New Year holiday.
Export of goods to China through border gates in Lang Son is bustling right after the Tet holiday.
According to Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy, the export of goods to China through the border gate in Lang Son on February 14-15 was still very active, although some secondary border gates had not yet reopened.
Previously, according to the announcement of the Lunar New Year holiday schedule from the Chinese authorities, border gates operating with Lang Son province will temporarily stop operating from February 10 (the first day of the Lunar New Year) to February 13 (the fourth day of the Lunar New Year).
From February 14, China will clear pre-registered shipments through the Huu Nghi, Tan Thanh, Chi Ma, and Dong Dang Station border gates. According to the Dong Dang - Lang Son Economic Zone Management Board, in the past two days, Lang Son border gates have completed procedures to export 568 trucks of goods to China.
The most common are still fresh fruits such as watermelon, dragon fruit, durian, and mango. Specifically, on February 15, 262 trucks were exported, of which 260 were fruits. On February 14, 306 trucks were exported, of which 301 were fruits.
Currently, Lang Son still has the secondary border gates of Coc Nam, Na Hinh, and Na Nua that have not cleared customs because the border gates opposite China are still closed for Tet.
According to Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy, from February 18, the border gates in Lang Son will fully resume customs clearance with China. Currently, the number of trucks going to the border continues to increase, as businesses are boosting the export of fresh fruit to the Chinese market during the full moon festival in January.
Mr. Duy also said that January is still the peak month for import and export. The Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board has a specific plan for this cargo situation. "We will discuss with the Chinese side to extend working hours, to avoid cargo congestion. Before the recent Tet holiday, there were days when the border gates on both sides worked up to 20 hours to clear cargo," Mr. Duy said.
