Lexus has launched a mildly updated version of the LM500h in Japan, aiming to improve passenger comfort and everyday usability. The second-generation LM retains the original design introduced in 2023. Instead, Lexus has focused on the inside, tweaking the cabin with small updates that make a noticeable difference for those sitting in the back seats.
One of the key upgrades is a quieter ride. Additional vibration damping and sound-absorbing materials have been added around the rear wheel arches and rear door area, helping to reduce ambient noise and create a quieter interior. Lexus has also made a practical change to the four-seat Executive model: the power sliding door switch has been moved from the ceiling to the center console between the two rear seats. This simple change means passengers no longer have to reach up or stand to open the door. The center console now also features a small tray designed to hold smartphones and personal items. Additionally, a new ceiling light has been added to illuminate the floor near the rear doors, making it easier to get in and out of the cabin at night.
Both the four-seat Executive and the base six-seat Version L get brighter interior lighting, which creates a more pleasant atmosphere. However, if you find the new setup a bit harsh, you can always adjust the brightness to your liking. The LM 500h's hybrid system remains unchanged, with a total output of 366 horsepower from a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine and two electric motors. Power is sent to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Orders for the facelifted Lexus LM500h will begin in Japan on August 1, 2025. Prices for the six-seat Version L remain unchanged at 15,000,000 yen (about VND2.63 billion).
The Executive version, meanwhile, has seen a slight increase, now starting at 20,000,000 Yen (about 3.518 billion VND). Similar upgrades are likely to be available in other markets in the near future. Video : Review of Lexus LM 500h 2024 in Vietnam.
