Quang Ninh also has a total holiday of 14 days; according to the official schedule, students are on holiday from February 16th to February 28th, but because March 1st falls on a Sunday, students will only return to school on March 2nd - the latest among the localities that have announced their holidays.
Some other localities are giving students 11 to 12 days off. Tay Ninh has a 12-day break, from February 11th to February 22nd (24th of the 12th lunar month to the 6th of the 1st lunar month). Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho , and Ha Tinh are all giving students 11 days off, but the specific dates differ: Ha Tinh is off from February 13th to February 23rd; while Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho are off from February 12th to February 22nd.

Specifically, officials, civil servants, and employees of administrative agencies, public service organizations, political organizations, and socio-political organizations (referred to as civil servants and public employees) will have the following Lunar New Year holiday schedule for 2026: 5 days off as prescribed, including 1 day before Tet and 4 days after Tet, from Monday, February 16, 2026 (corresponding to the 29th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake) to Friday, February 20, 2026 (corresponding to the 4th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse).
In the education sector, according to regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training, provinces and cities are free to plan their own school year, provided they ensure a full 35 weeks of actual learning, with the first semester ending before January 18th and the second semester before May 31st.
