The Leica Q3 has dimensions (L x W x H) of (130mm x 92.6mm x 80.3mm) and weighs 743g with battery. The body is made entirely of die-cast magnesium alloy, is IP52 water-resistant, and comes with a Summilux 28mm F1.7 ASPH lens (11 elements in 9 groups, 3 aspherical elements).
The Q3 features a 3-inch, 1.84 million-pixel touchscreen on the back that can flip out. The display within the electronic viewfinder has 5.76 million pixels.
The product is equipped with a 62.39MP CMOS sensor with 60.30MP usable, supported by the new generation Maestro IV image processor. As a result, video recording capabilities have been boosted to a maximum of 8K and a minimum of Full HD.
Additionally, the camera features a continuous shooting capability of 15 frames per second, an ISO range of 100-100,000 in automatic mode and 50-100,000 in manual mode. The camera utilizes hybrid phase and contrast autofocus at 315 points.
In addition to SD card slots, the Leica Q3 also has 8GB of built-in internal memory and GPS to record location information for photos taken.
The device uses the new BP-SCL6 battery with a capacity of up to 2,200mAh, and the manufacturer has also included charging via USB-C port as well as Qi wireless charging. However, to use wireless charging, users must purchase a grip that integrates a charging base connecting the device via three copper pins located on the bottom.
Leica will be holding the launch event for the Leica Q3 on May 25, 2023 in the US and June 26, 2023 in Europe.
