According to the original plan, U22 Vietnam will meet U22 Laos on December 4 and U22 Malaysia on December 11 at Tinsulanon Stadium (Songkhla). However, prolonged heavy rains caused serious damage, forcing host Thailand to move the entire Group B and 9 other competitions to Bangkok.

The match schedule has also been adjusted, with the opening match of U22 Vietnam taking place a day earlier, on December 3, while the second match remains on December 11. The semi-finals and finals will take place on December 15 and 18 respectively at Rajamangala Stadium.
Not only changing the venue, the men's football event of the 33rd SEA Games witnessed a big change when Cambodia withdrew from the tournament. This left Group A with only two teams, forcing the Organizing Committee to transfer U22 Singapore from Group C to take their place. The tournament therefore has 9 teams, divided into 3 groups: A includes Thailand, Timor-Leste, Singapore; B includes Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos; C includes Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines.
According to the new plan, U22 Vietnam will fly from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok on the morning of December 1 to complete the final preparations.
