
In badminton, the Vietnamese women's team entered the quarter-finals of the team event against Malaysia. Six players including Bui Bich Phuong, Nguyen Thuy Linh, Pham Thi Dieu Ly, Pham Thi Khanh, Tran Thi Phuong Thuy and Vu Thi Trang will represent Vietnam in the crucial match.
According to the format, the two teams play a total of five matches (three singles, two doubles); the team that wins three matches first will advance to the semi-finals.
The match is scheduled to take place at 10am at Thammasat University Gymnasium, Pathum Thani Province (Thailand). This is considered a big challenge as Malaysia has long been a formidable opponent of Vietnamese badminton in the region.
In baseball, the Vietnamese men's team will face the Lao team at 10am at the stadium in the Pathum Thani sports complex.
After an impressive 5-2 victory over Malaysia on December 6, coach Park Hyo Chul and his team are in good spirits and aiming for another win to solidify their chances of making it to the bronze medal match. This is their first victory in 14 years since the 2011 SEA Games.
Men's Baseball at SEA Games 33 brings together seven teams: Laos, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Philippines.
The teams will compete in a round robin from early December, then select the four teams with the best results to enter the medal round taking place on December 13 and 14 at Huamark Indoor Stadium (Bangkok).
In today's competition, both teams carry the expectations of fans, at the same time opening up opportunities for the Vietnamese Sports delegation to continue improving their achievements at the SEA Games in Thailand.
