Vietnam Gymnastics Federation awards medal winners at SEA Games 33

In order to encourage the competitive spirit of athletes before the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation has issued a decision to give bonuses to athletes who won medals at the Games.

Specifically, the Gold Medalist will be awarded 10 million VND, the Silver Medalist will be awarded 6 million VND and the Bronze Medalist will be awarded 4 million VND. This will be an important source of encouragement for the coaching staff and athletes in the context of many changes in the content and regulations of the 33rd SEA Games, directly affecting the plans of the teams.

This year's national gymnastics team has 7 athletes, including prominent faces such as Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien, Dinh Phuong Thanh, Tran Doan Quynh Nam, and Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu.

The team's target is to win 2-3 gold medals, in line with the current strength and the change in regulations when the two strong events, all-around and team, were eliminated, leaving only individual events.

Each athlete can register for a maximum of 3 events and enter the finals of 2 events, requiring the team to adjust their strategy and choose events that suit each athlete's strengths.

In Aerobics, Vietnam also participated with 7 athletes. At the SEA Games 2 years ago, Aerobics won all 5 gold medals, contributing significantly to helping the Vietnamese sports delegation lead the region.

However, with only two events left to compete in this Games, defending your achievements becomes more difficult. Nevertheless, Aerobic athletes still try to practice with high intensity, carefully reviewing each combination of movements to ensure technical, artistic and difficult factors according to the new regulations.

Also related to the bonus regime, the Vietnam Sports Administration announced the bonus levels at SEA Games 33 for gold, silver, and bronze medalists as 10 million VND, 5 million VND, and 3 million VND, respectively.

Many sports federations and associations also mobilize social resources to supplement the bonus fund.

The Mixed Martial Arts Federation (MMA) announced a bonus of 100 million VND for gold medals. The Taekwondo Federation awarded 700 USD, 500 USD and 300 USD for three types of medals respectively. The Athletics Federation announced a bonus of 1 billion VND if the team achieved the target of 12 gold medals.
