(NADS) - Towards the 70th Anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory, the artists' group of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations organized a creative expedition "Through the Northwest - back to Dien Bien" with 70 artists from 10 majors of Vietnamese literature and arts (from April 15 to 21, 2024).

At the cemetery of Dien Bien heroic martyrs, Associate Professor, Doctor, Musician Do Hong Quan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, emotionally said: “The historic victory of Dien Bien Phu will forever be an immortal heroic epic, recorded in the history of the nation with brilliant golden pages. The heroic martyrs have been lying on this land for 70 springs, in the sun and wind, the flowers still bloom, the rice is still green, generations of children have grown up and matured. You will forever be a shining example for future generations to follow and follow, building Vietnam to be more and more prosperous. And you will forever be an endless source of inspiration for the creativity of Vietnamese artists and writers.”

The workshop was held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory. It aims to spread the values of Dien Bien Phu in the country's literary and artistic life. At the same time, it promotes sublimation, perseverance, and nurtures creative emotions for artists. From there, it improves the quality of works, and continues to have more valuable compositions about Dien Bien Phu.
The workshop was chaired by Associate Professor, Doctor, Musician Do Hong Quan, President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; Professor, Doctor Le Hong Ly, President of the Vietnam Folklore Association, President of the Council of Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Standing Member of the Council of Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations;
Within the framework of the program “Through the Northwest - back to Dien Bien”, the delegation of artists from the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations visited and presented gifts to students of Him Lam Primary School, and launched a painting contest with the theme “Hooray for Dien Bien soldiers”.
As part of the series of activities in Dien Bien, on the evening of April 18, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations coordinated with the People's Committee of Dien Bien province to organize an art exchange program with the theme "Through the Northwest - back to Dien Bien".
Through the journey to Dien Bien, each artist was moved, moved, and remembered the heroic Dien Bien Phu Victory. This is a golden milestone, an immortal epic of the nation's history. To achieve that victory, thousands of outstanding children of the Vietnamese people sacrificed their youth and lives for the independence and freedom of the country, for the campaign until the day of total victory. The blood of the martyrs dyed the revolutionary flag. The sacrifice of the martyrs gave our country the blossoming of independence, the fruit of freedom. The role and responsibility of artists is to continue to create and spread historical values and deep gratitude to today's and future generations...
