The 2025 Central Region Bai Choi Singing Festival has been postponed to November 28 and 29.

(GLO)- The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a new announcement on the time to organize the Central Region Bai Choi Singing Festival in 2025, after the event had to be postponed due to the impact of storms and flooding occurring on a large scale.

Accordingly, the 2025 Central Region Bai Choi Singing Festival will take place from November 28 to 29, 2025. The program content and venue of the festival will remain the same according to Notice No. 01/TB-BTC dated October 28, 2025 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Specifically, the Festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Da Nang City at An Hai Cultural House (No. 02 Vu Van Dung, Da Nang City), with the theme "Fragrance and Colors of Central Vietnam 2025".

The festival's content includes: performing traditional melodies such as xang xe, ho thai, xuan nu... praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the homeland, the beauty of the land, the hard-working people of the Central region in the process of building the homeland; praising love between couples, family affection, telling folk tales, ancient stories, history... New creations must still be based on the traditional structure and pronunciation of bai choi, avoiding excessive adaptation.

Participating in the festival are artists and Bài Chòi clubs from 7 provinces and cities in the Central region, including: Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai and Dak Lak. Each group has 10 - 20 members, including conductors, singers, musicians and players.

Each troupe's performance will not exceed 30 minutes, performed in the form of singing (card game), singing card games, stage card games...

The group of artists and musicians from Gia Lai province participating in the Festival will bring special performances expressing the identity of Binh Dinh folk art, including two parts: Greetings to the homeland , Homeland opening festival with the script, lyrics written and composed by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Phu. The performing force gathers many famous artists such as: People's Artist Minh Duc, Meritorious Artists: Tran Huu Phuoc, Ly Thanh Long...

In addition to performing on stage, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requested three groups from Da Nang City, Hue City and Gia Lai Province to participate in performing activities for the public at the public Bai Choi space (Tran Hung Dao Park, An Hai Ward, Da Nang City).

This festival is not a competition, does not score or award prizes, but is a playground for artists to meet, exchange, and preserve the heritage of Bai Choi, which is not only a folk game but also the "soul" of the Central region rich in cultural and historical traditions. Thereby, honoring and promoting the value of the nation's intangible cultural heritage, contributing to spreading the art of Bai Choi to the public.
