Kon Gang Commune has 6 agricultural cooperatives with more than 200 members, including: Kon Gang Agricultural and Service Cooperative, Nam Yang Agricultural and Service Cooperative, H'Neng Agricultural and Service Cooperative, Dak Krong Agricultural and Service Cooperative, Tam Diep Xanh Agricultural Cooperative and Vu Van Agricultural Cooperative. Each cooperative has its own direction, but with the same goal of helping farmers produce effectively, linked with processing and stable consumption.

Kon Gang Agricultural and Service Business Cooperative (village 5) was established in 2018, currently has 6 members contributing capital and associated with 185 households growing coffee on an area of over 320 hectares (including 64 ethnic minority households).

Mr. Trinh Khac Duong - Director of the Cooperative - said: "Previously, people mainly produced on a small scale, so the Cooperative took the lead in purchasing fresh coffee, processing beans and linking consumption with Vinh Hiep Company Limited (An Phu Ward). We all applied the 4C coffee production chain, receiving an additional bonus of 300 VND/kg compared to the market price. Thanks to training in techniques for caring for and harvesting ripe fruit, using fertilizers and pesticides according to the correct process, the average yield reached about 4.5 tons of beans/ha, and the quality of the beans was significantly improved."

Participating in the association from the very beginning, Mr. Hoang Dinh Lung (village 5, Kon Gang commune) said: His family has 1.2 hectares of coffee, and is supported by the Cooperative and Vinh Hiep Company Limited in terms of technology and stable output.

“Previously, I fertilized based on my feelings, and the yield was uneven. Since joining the cooperative and receiving technical training, the plants have grown well, yielding about 4.5 tons of kernels per hectare, and the kernels are beautiful and easier to sell. Most importantly, the price is transparent, so I can feel secure in long-term production,” said Mr. Lung.

Not only linking product consumption, Kon Gang Agricultural and Service Business Cooperative also guides farmers to gradually shift to sustainable farming, increasing the use of organic fertilizers to improve soil and protect the environment.

Mr. Trinh Khac Duong added: "In the coming time, the Cooperative will expand cooperation with potential enterprises, aiming to invest more deeply in technology, capital and product consumption, gradually forming a sustainable coffee production chain, helping farmers develop stably, gradually reducing the situation of fragmented production."

Another model that has made a strong impression is the Nam Yang Agricultural and Service Cooperative (village 1), established in 2017, with 130 members to date. The Cooperative is currently managing more than 200 hectares of crops (120 hectares of coffee and 80 hectares of pepper), of which more than 30 hectares have been certified organic by the US and Europe, the rest are converting to organic production.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Cong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cooperative - said: "We aim to develop coffee and pepper in an organic direction, investing in modern processing machinery to increase the value of agricultural products. At the end of June 2025, the Cooperative had 5 products recognized as 5-star national OCOP, including: Fine Robusta coffee, Dak Yang coffee, Le Chi organic red pepper, Le Chi organic black pepper and Le Chi organic white pepper".

According to Mr. Cong, after being recognized as a national 5-star OCOP, the cooperative's products quickly created attraction in the market, expanded domestic consumption and attracted many international partners to learn about and place orders. Thanks to that, the cooperative's products have increasingly affirmed their reputation, both increasing economic value and opening up sustainable export opportunities.

The Green Tam Diep Agricultural Cooperative (Tam Diep village) is also showing remarkable effectiveness in linking production and product consumption. The cooperative has 25 members, cultivating about 50 hectares of coffee, of which nearly 20 hectares are intercropped with macadamia.

Ms. Pham Thi Mai, Director of the Cooperative, said: “Macadamia trees intercropped with coffee are very suitable for the local climate and soil conditions. Although not yet intensively cultivated, macadamia has brought in a significant additional source of income. The Cooperative also cooperates with coffee and macadamia processing enterprises to receive technical support and output, aiming towards safe and sustainable organic coffee production.”

Mr. Nguyen Kim Anh, Head of the Economic Department of Kon Gang Commune, said: “Farmers participating in cooperatives contributes to improving production capacity, especially for ethnic minorities. When participating in cooperatives, people are trained in techniques, produce according to sustainable processes, and have stable output thanks to the consumption of enterprises.

From the close connection between farmers, cooperatives and enterprises, Kon Gang commune’s agriculture is gradually transforming towards a more modern, efficient and sustainable direction. In the coming time, the commune will continue to encourage people to cooperate, and at the same time support cooperatives in building brands and registering product quality certification to expand the market.”
