  • Improving the quality of the rice industry in the new context.

Expand the supply chain.

In recent years, the implementation of policies to develop the collective economy has yielded significant results. The local agricultural sector has actively encouraged people to participate in cooperatives, production groups, and models of linkage with businesses. As a result, farmers' awareness of the role of production linkages has been increasingly enhanced, creating a foundation for the formation of stable raw material areas that better meet market demands.

The scale of rice production and consumption linkages is constantly expanding. From just a few businesses participating, there are now dozens of units linking with numerous cooperatives and production groups, covering tens of thousands of hectares. The volume of rice consumed through these linkages is increasing, contributing to stable output and mitigating the problem of "bumper harvests leading to price drops".

Specifically, in 2022, 14 businesses were linked with 29 cooperatives/groups, covering an area of 38,257.5 hectares; of which 577.5 hectares were organic rice, and 37,680 hectares were safe and VietGAP-certified rice; the consumption volume was approximately 227,094 tons, accounting for 12.2% of the province's total production. By 2025, the province will have 27 businesses linked with 50 cooperatives/groups, covering an area of 53,357 hectares; of which 311 hectares will be producing organic rice, and 53,046 hectares will be safe and VietGAP-certified rice; the consumption volume will be approximately 320,142 tons, accounting for 16.7% of the province's total production.

The Kinh Dớn Agricultural Service Cooperative (Kinh Dớn hamlet, Đá Bạc commune) is one of the successful examples of production linkage. Mr. Nguyễn Vũ Trường, Director of the Cooperative, shared: “Through chain linkage, input material prices are reduced thanks to centralized purchasing; quality is ensured due to inspection and complete invoices; large-scale production makes it easier to negotiate with businesses, ensures stable output, and completely consumes products without any surplus.”
