Affirming the brand of the Central Vietnam heritage journey.
Discussing regional linkages in the past period, Mr. Van Ba Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the most outstanding feature is the continued effectiveness of the coordination mechanism between Da Nang - Hue - Quang Tri, contributing to affirming the common brand "Amazing Central Vietnam Heritage".
Many key tasks were also implemented simultaneously, such as ensuring a civilized and safe tourism environment; maintaining the "Connecting Central Heritage" train route between Hue and Da Nang and developing inter-regional products; organizing promotional programs in Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, France, Italy, and Switzerland; boosting digital promotion and strengthening professional exchanges on state management and technology application in tourism.
Tourism businesses in the three localities have proactively implemented collaborative programs to stimulate demand, developing diverse themes and attractive tourism products tailored to different market segments. These programs contribute to the formation of unique inter-regional product chains, enhancing competitiveness and better meeting the needs and experiential trends of domestic and international tourists.
“Each locality has its own advantages, distinct tourism products and services, and many unique highlights along the Central Vietnam heritage route. World cultural heritage sites from My Son and Hoi An to the ancient capital of Hue, and world natural heritage sites Phong Nha and Son Doong, create a tapestry of Central Vietnam heritage, offering tourists a journey filled with diverse experiences. Basic transportation infrastructure is convenient, facilitating easy travel between the three localities,” shared Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of Visit Indochina Company.
"Joining hands" to create unique tourism products.
Mr. Van Ba Son acknowledged that in the past, the linkage in tourism development between localities has focused only on promotion and participation in joint booths at tourism promotion events, rather than going into greater depth.

In 2026, the three localities will continue to strengthen tourism promotion and marketing activities both domestically and internationally at the ITE 2026 International Tourism Fair (Ho Chi Minh City), the Vietnam International Tourism Fair - VITM Hanoi 2026, and the VITM Da Nang International Tourism Fair; along with programs to launch tourism markets in India, South Korea, and Japan.
Localities are focusing on building a common digital communication identity "One Journey - Three Destinations," to be applied uniformly throughout the entire cluster. The Amazing Central Vietnam Heritage fanpage will be upgraded to an official regional communication channel, along with the development of a digital inter-regional tourism map and common tour products along the route.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Deputy General Director of Hai Van Cat International Travel Joint Stock Company, linking the three localities is not just a geographical addition, but a synergy to create a huge "funnel" for receiving international and domestic tourists.
Instead of competing, each locality needs to play a specialized role in the tourist's journey. For example, Da Nang (a hub for coordination and entertainment) acts as a "gateway" to the international airport, high-end accommodation systems, modern entertainment products, and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) tourism.
Meanwhile, Hue (with its cultural depth and heritage tourism) is the heart of a chain linked to royal values and spiritual tourism; Quang Tri (with its memory and discovery tourism) will exploit its unique war heritage, creating powerful emotions for international visitors who want to learn about history.
The MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism stream in Da Nang represents the most promising potential for neighboring localities. After conferences in Da Nang, these groups often seek "pre-tours" or "post-tours." This is when they might want to experience royal banquets in Hue or visit historical sites in Quang Tri.
“We need to eliminate the ‘administrative boundary’ mindset in tourism products and instead build a journey with multiple experiences for tourists. Accordingly, we should develop tours such as ‘Journey to Discover the Legacy of the Dynasty’ (Hue - Hoi An) or ‘The Peace Road’ (Quang Tri - Quang Binh); and implement smart tourism cards that allow tourists to use them at heritage sites and on transportation connecting the three localities at preferential prices…,” Mr. Thien suggested.
According to Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, with its many advantages and potential, Da Nang is asserting its role as a national growth pole, a gateway attracting international and domestic tourists, and spreading development throughout the North Central region, the Central Coast, and the Central Highlands. Given this position, Da Nang needs to further strengthen inter-regional tourism product linkages with Hue and Quang Tri; and develop heritage tours combined with nature exploration.
