In this tournament, Tran Quyet Chien is the reigning runner-up. Therefore, the player born in 1984 needs to reach the final to keep all the points he has, thereby protecting the No. 2 position on the UMB rankings.
Besides Tran Quyet Chien, the remaining 6 players of Vietnam are Chiem Hong Thai, Bao Phuong Vinh, Tran Thanh Luc, Tran Duc Minh, Nguyen Van Tai, Le Thanh Tien all compete on September 25.
