Marcus Rashford has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford. Now he is being eyed by Liverpool, which could lead to the first transfer between the two rivals in 61 years.

Rashford is on the market for £40m after falling out with manager Ruben Amorim and spending the second half of last season on loan at Villa Park.

Liverpool need to add more personnel to the attack, because Diogo Jota just died, and Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are also anxious to leave.

Therefore, Rashford has been shortlisted by the big bosses at Anfield, even though coach Arne Slot's top target is Alexander Isak.

Newcastle are determined not to sell Isak for less than £150m, so Liverpool will likely have to turn to backup options.

Hugo Ekitike, Ollie Watkins, Victor Osimhen, Rodrygo and Rashford are the names that the Anfield team is targeting.

If the approach to recruit Rashford is successful, this will be the first transfer deal between Liverpool and MU in 61 years.

In 2017, Gabriel Heinze wanted to move to Anfield because of disagreements with Sir Alex Ferguson. But the Scottish coach refused to give in, deciding to sell the Argentine defender to Real Madrid.
