On July 14, Pham Minh Huu Tien (Pharmacist Tien) held a press conference “Proud of Vietnam” in Ho Chi Minh City to launch products and tools in the beauty industry. The program was broadcast live on his YouTube channel with more than 600,000 subscribers. After the event, Pharmacist Tien’s announcement of developing the AI chatbot ChatDST “better than ChatGPT” attracted attention and debate.
However, the broadcast is no longer available on the platform. According to the video streaming link, YouTube currently states “ Video unavailable. This is a private video .” It is unclear whether the content was hidden by Pharmacist Tien or was scanned by the application.
In addition to the no longer broadcast video, short clips cut from the above program are still available on Pham Minh Huu Tien's media channels.
After his shocking statements about AI being better than ChatGPT, Pham Huu Minh Tien was doubted and strongly reacted by the community. In the research and sharing communities of AI methods in Vietnam, many posts appeared analyzing that the above ChatDST solution is not feasible.

Right below the posts promoting the above product by Pharmacist Tien, there was also suspicion from users. “When using this chat, there is probably a 30-second delay for each command because it has to copy and paste the results for the customer,” commented account P.D.K.
In addition, the expertise of the application development team is also questioned. Previously, Pharmacist Tien developed in the fields of chemistry, cosmetics and entertainment program production, which have nothing to do with technology. Meanwhile, building AI and large language models is a specialized field, requiring large resources and a long development time.
On the other hand, many users reacted negatively because Pharmacist Tien had previously posted many videos explaining the Kera vegetable candy product, with information that was inconsistent with the investigation announcement of the authorities.
The information in the ChatDST introduction is vague and has many unverified parts. For example, Mr. Tien said that the chatbot was built on the Llama platform with 403 billion “neurons”. Meanwhile, the correct unit of measurement is “parameter”. Llama also only has a version with 405 billion parameters, without the 403 billion option as mentioned.
Mr. Tien said his product is better than ChatGPT thanks to its 960 GB memory, "double" the 480 GB of its competitor thanks to the server using 9 Nvidia A100 80 GB GPUs. However, reports compiled by The Information revealed that ChatGPT uses at least 290,000 of the above cards from 2024. At the same time, the speed of 2,000 tokens/s with such a system is also impossible.
On the other hand, responding to Tri Thuc - ZNews , the representative of Nvidia's exclusive distributor said that they do not sell A100 cards in Vietnam. Therefore, it is unclear how Pharmacist Tien owns the above server. In the face of conflicting opinions, Pham Minh Huu Tien still affirmed that his product is as declared, and will be launched in October.
