Despite suffering many losses and pains, Mr. Hoang Van Thoi still cares and shares with the students studying at Lang Nu Kindergarten. This is the school where Mr. Thoi's children used to study.
After the terrible flash flood in Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district ( Lao Cai province), Mr. Thoi lost 5 relatives, including 3 young children.
Ms. Hoang Thi Hoa, a teacher at Lang Nu Kindergarten, said that yesterday afternoon (October 3), Mr. Thoi went directly to the school to give gifts and encourage 34 students there.
According to Ms. Hoa, there were 4 teachers at the school, everyone was moved and shed tears by Mr. Thoi's actions. Although he had to endure a lot of pain, after the flood passed, he still cared for and encouraged the students. These were the students who had studied with Mr. Thoi's children before the terrible flash flood hit.
"You guys study for my kids, do you hear?" Mr. Thoi's message to the students made the teacher choke up because he felt so sorry for his three children, Ms. Hoa said.
Sharing with VietNamNet reporter , Mr. Hoang Van Thoi said that the gift was given by a benefactor to him to send to the students at the school. These are the students who studied with his children before and he considers the students as his own children.
Small gifts to encourage children to study well after the flash flood passed.
Mr. Thoi added that after the temporary housing area was completed, he moved here to live. In the first days after losing all 5 family members, he was very desperate and sad.
"With everyone's care and help, my mood is better now and I am also planning for a new life in the future," said Mr. Thoi.
Mr. Pham Duc Vinh, Principal of Phuc Khanh Primary and Secondary School, said that this morning, Mr. Thoi came to meet the school's board of directors to express his wish to give gifts to 13 students of class 2C - where his child used to study.
However, because Mr. Thoi still has many things to worry about, overcome difficulties and rebuild his life, Mr. Vinh thanked him and accepted his kindness. As for the gifts sent to the students, the school asked Mr. Thoi's permission not to accept them.
"The school's teaching staff loves Mr. Thoi as well as the people of Lang Nu village. When analyzing and asking for permission to refuse the gifts sent to the students, Mr. Thoi was also happy with the school's decision," said Mr. Vinh.
