Captain Duong Chi Hau, Deputy Head of Long Xuyen Ward Police, said that in 2025, the ward police will advise the People's Committee of the ward to build, strengthen, and improve many models such as "Neighborhood Fire Prevention and Control Teams," "Assisting Rehabilitated Individuals and Reintegrating into the Community," and "Security and Order Gates." At the same time, they will promote propaganda work through diverse forms suitable to each residential area. Through community meetings, the public address system, social media, and community Zalo groups, people are promptly informed about the methods and tactics of various types of crimes, thereby raising awareness and actively participating in prevention. By fulfilling their roles and responsibilities, people provided 46 reports, assisting the police in resolving 115 cases of public disorder, conflicts among the people, domestic violence, etc., contributing to maintaining security and order in the locality and effectively serving the requirements and tasks of socio -economic development.
The nationwide movement to protect national security is also linked to the campaign to build a cultured life in residential areas and a civilized urban environment, contributing to enhancing solidarity and awareness of law compliance among the people. Departments, organizations, schools, and businesses in the area are strengthening coordination in the work of disseminating and educating about the law, preventing and combating crime and social evils. Mr. Nguyen Van Gioi, residing in Dong Thinh 8 hamlet, Long Xuyen ward, shared: “Through social media applications connected to the ward police force, we residents are able to understand the tactics and activities of criminals. This helps us increase our vigilance in preventing crime for ourselves and our families. When we detect individuals engaging in theft or causing disruption to public order in the residential area, we immediately notify the police force to handle and apprehend them.”
Ms. Do Thi Bao Tran, residing in Tay Hue 1 hamlet, Long Xuyen ward, said: “The An Giang University Teachers' Village residential area has been equipped with security gates by the ward police. After more than 4 months, strangers no longer appear or enter the residential area, so theft has stopped, and the residents are very happy.”
To further strengthen the nationwide movement for safeguarding national security in the coming period, the Chairwoman of the Long Xuyen Ward People's Committee, Doan Thi Huong Ha, believes that it is necessary to continue strengthening the leadership of the Party Committee and the government in ensuring security and order and building the nationwide movement for safeguarding national security; identifying this as a regular and important task of the entire political system and society. The ward will further promote the core role of the grassroots police force. At the same time, it will promote the application of information technology in propaganda work and receiving feedback from the people; focusing on building and replicating effective operational models suitable to the actual situation of each locality. The ward's departments, agencies, and mass organizations need to strengthen coordination and promote the strength of the great national unity; linking the nationwide movement for safeguarding national security with patriotic emulation campaigns and socio-economic development tasks in the locality.
Furthermore, every citizen needs to clearly understand that protecting national security is not only the responsibility of law enforcement agencies but also the shared responsibility of the entire society. Every small action, such as raising vigilance, reporting crimes, strictly complying with the law, and building a civilized lifestyle, contributes to creating a solid people's security posture, maintaining peace and ensuring sustainable development for Long Xuyen ward in the new era.
