
The water level on Thu Bon River (Da Nang City) at Cau Lau station is 1.62m higher than the alarm level 3 and exceeds the historical flood level of 1964 (5.48m). The water level on Huong River ( Hue City) at Kim Long station is 4.56m (1.06m above alarm level 3); Vu Gia River at Ai Nghia station is 10.22m (1.22m above alarm level 3).
It is forecasted that in the coming hours, flood on Thu Bon River at Cau Lau station will fluctuate at a high level and on BĐ3 from 1.6-1.7m, higher than the historical flood in 1964.
In the next 12 hours, the flood on Thu Bon River at Cau Lau station will continue to fluctuate at a high level and 1.5m above BĐ3; the flood on Huong River and Vu Gia River will continue to decrease, and on Bo River will continue to decrease and be below BĐ3. The flood disaster risk warning level is level 3.
Deep and widespread flooding from Hue City to Quang Ngai Province will continue for the next few days.
Not only surrounded by floods, the Central region also experiences heavy rain. Today and tonight, Hue and Da Nang cities will have rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, locally over 70mm.
This afternoon and tonight, the Central Highlands, the South and the Eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Lam Dong will have showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-30mm, in some places heavy rain over 70mm. Heavy rain in the Central region is likely to last until about November 4.
Heavy rains have been falling for many days, soil moisture models show that some areas in Quang Tri province, Hue city, Da Nang city, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai are nearly saturated (over 85%) or have reached saturation. There is a high risk of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence on slopes and small streams in many communes/wards.
