According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province, the entire province has harvested 104,338 hectares of winter-spring rice, reaching 99.36% of the planted area. The average yield reached 6.93 tons/ha, exceeding the plan by 3.4%; the total production was nearly 723,000 tons, exceeding the plan by 1.7%.
Notably, the area covered by the "Sustainable Development of 1 Million Hectares of High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Cultivation Associated with Green Growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030" project has an average yield of 7.25 tons/ha.

Towards the end of the harvest season, the price of winter-spring rice in many localities in the province continued to increase slightly. Last week, high-quality rice had the highest price at around 7,800 VND/kg, an increase of 200 VND/kg compared to the previous week and an increase of 600 VND/kg compared to a month ago. The lowest price was around 5,700 VND/kg, an increase of 100 VND/kg compared to the previous week and an increase of 200 VND/kg compared to a month ago.
Alongside the winter-spring harvest, farmers in the province have planted 15,441 hectares of summer-autumn rice for 2026, reaching 13.93% of the plan. This includes the implementation of the 1 million hectare high-quality rice project in the communes of Long Ho, Binh Phuoc, Hieu Phung, Trung Hiep, and Trung Thanh.
According to agricultural experts, the area of summer-autumn rice crops affected by pests and diseases is currently around 3,518 hectares, a decrease of 821 hectares compared to last week. Some pests appearing in the fields include golden apple snails, leaf-rolling caterpillars, brown planthoppers, and other pests. Farmers are proactively monitoring and controlling pests and diseases effectively.
