TRT reported that Hamas forces said on December 6 that they are ready to hand over weapons in the Gaza Strip to the Palestinian Authority on the condition that the Israeli Army's occupation of the strip of land ends.

"Hamas' weapons are linked to the existence of the Israeli occupation and aggression. Therefore, when Israel ends its occupation in Gaza, Hamas will voluntarily hand over its weapons to the Palestinian Authority. The issue of weapons is still being discussed with the relevant parties and mediators, and the agreement is still in the early stages," said Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas in Gaza.

"We accept the deployment of a UN force tasked with monitoring the border and ensuring compliance with the ceasefire in Gaza," Mr al-Hayya added.

Regarding the humanitarian situation in Gaza during the ceasefire that took effect on October 10, al-Hayya accused Israel of "obstructing the delivery of some aid into Gaza as if we were still at war," Xinhua news agency reported.

"We call on intermediaries to intervene," he said.

Hamas has previously refused to disarm, considering it a "red line", while Israel has stressed the disarmament of Hamas and other Palestinian factions in Gaza as a key condition for the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal.
