According to search data on digital travel platform Agoda, during the season of brilliant red leaves in Korea and Japan, searches by Vietnamese tourists to the two countries skyrocketed. Korea recorded a 55% increase, while Japan was 24% higher than in the summer.
Based on the number of searches and bookings by Vietnamese tourists for their autumn holidays (October and November) compared to the summer (June and July), it can be seen that the Vietnamese people's "love" for Korea has not decreased, especially during the red leaf season.
Seoul and Busan cities topped the list of most popular destinations for Vietnamese tourists, with searches increasing by 63% and 67% respectively, followed by Jeju, Incheon (29%) and Gyeongju-si (86%).
The red leaf season in Japan also witnessed a special attraction for Vietnamese tourists, when the number of searches increased by 24% compared to the summer.
Tokyo topped the search list with a 6% increase, as tourists flocked to the capital to admire the changing leaves in the heart of the city. Next was Osaka with a 30% increase compared to the summer, with three destinations Kyoto (73%), Fukuoka (28%) and Nagoya (36%) all making the top 5 most searched destinations in Japan by Vietnamese people this fall.
