Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has just announced the first round of specialized high school graduation exam scores of nearly 3,500 candidates. These results will be used for admission to Ho Chi Minh City University of Education by combining high school academic results with specialized high school graduation exams and accounting for a maximum of 30% of the quota for each major. In addition to admission to Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, the results will also be used for admission to 8 teacher training universities nationwide.
Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City National University has just announced the results of the first round of the 2024 National High School Graduation Exam. Accordingly, out of 93,828 graded exams, the average score of candidates was 643.4 points; 80 candidates scored over 1,000 points (on a scale of 1,200).
Hanoi National University has also announced the results of the first and second rounds of the National High School Examination. On April 20-21, the third round will take place in Hanoi, Ha Tinh, Nam Dinh, Nghe An, and Hai Duong, with an expected 18,000 candidates taking the exam.
As of April 15, many schools have announced the minimum scores for accepting applications according to the National High School Entrance Exam score plan. Specifically, candidates with a National High School Entrance Exam score of Ho Chi Minh City National University of Technology reaching 850 points or higher, or a score of 100 points or higher from the National High School Entrance Exam of Hanoi National University of Technology of Technology have a chance to be admitted to Foreign Trade University.
The National Economics University informed that the minimum scores for this school are 800 and 85 points respectively. In addition, candidates with a score of 60 points or more on the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment test also have a chance to be admitted to this school.
Some other schools this year also plan to have quite high quotas for this exam score, such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, which reserves 25% of its total quota for considering the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's high school graduation exam scores. Saigon University reserves 15%. Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry reserves 10-15% of its 5,100 quotas; Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics reserves 10% of its more than 8,500 quotas...
Experts note that this is the minimum score for receiving applications, not the official admission score, so it is necessary to closely monitor the school's information. At the same time, like other early admission options such as high school transcripts, foreign language certificates, etc., the Ministry of Education and Training notes that early admission candidates will only be officially recognized when they graduate from high school and register for admission on the Ministry's information portal to perform general virtual filtering.
Unlike the high school graduation exam, which is only held once a year, the National High School Graduation Exam and Thinking Assessment Exams are often held multiple times a year by schools and the results will be kept for 1 or 2 years depending on the school. Therefore, candidates need to consider the appropriate time to register for the exam as well as have a suitable review plan because the structure of each National High School Graduation Exam is different.
To achieve the best results in these separate exams, experts say candidates need to calmly review and systematize their knowledge before taking the exam. Regarding the National High School Exam preparation courses, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh warned that recently, there have been many centers recruiting students to prepare for the National High School Exam. Individuals and organizations that prepare for the exam rely on the exam structure in the sample exams announced by universities to create exam questions for students, so these exams have not been verified and are likely to be incorrect. Many centers even brand themselves as Ho Chi Minh City National University to quickly recruit students with the trick of "committing to passing". Therefore, candidates and parents need to be careful with these invitations and advertisements to avoid losing money.
At the same time, candidates should also pay attention to the regulations of each individual exam. For example, the Hanoi National University Examination Center requires candidates taking the exam to be responsible for preserving the exam questions and exam papers; not allowed to copy part or all of the exam questions to others in any form during and after the exam; not allowed to take documents/properties of the Examination Center out of the exam room/exam area... Violations will result in suspension and cancellation of exam registration (if any) and cancellation of the exam results.
