The film "Lầu chú Hỏa" (Uncle Hỏa's Mansion ) has attracted audience attention because it is inspired by a story about a wealthy family in the early 20th century in the Saigon-Gia Định region. Furthermore, the cast consists entirely of actors making their film debut. According to the film crew, this wasn't a random choice but a strategic decision to cater to the unexplored found footage style of filmmaking in Vietnamese cinema. The entire story is told from the perspective of the characters' cameras.
According to director Hung Tran, using famous actors would make it hard for viewers to believe these are ordinary digital content creators (streamers) who accidentally stumbled into a real-life haunted house. Meanwhile, new actors bring a natural, instinctive, and raw feel, true to the spirit of mockumentary films. "Famous actors will make viewers recognize them immediately instead of believing the characters. With found footage, the most important thing is the feeling of authenticity," the director shared. This filmmaking style is also a reasonable choice for a script based on rumors about urban legends.

The actors are all new faces in the film industry.
Apart from Nguyen Minh Thoi, who gained attention with his MV Hongkong1 , and Nguyen Cong Nuong, who appeared in Blood Heart , the remaining faces such as Ngoc Chi Bao, Phung Hoang, Dung Ha, and Truong Huynh Nhu are all unfamiliar to the public.
Producer Lee Jin Sung also believes this choice helps viewers immerse themselves more easily in the story. According to him, the novelty of the cast will make viewers feel like they are watching a real event unfold rather than a staged film.

The film will feature many shaky and blurry scenes.
Documentary-style films often feature shaky footage. Director Hung Tran understood that this could be dizzying for viewers unfamiliar with this genre. He and his team carefully considered and researched ways to balance the necessary elements of the genre with conventional filmmaking techniques, ensuring the film was accessible to a wide audience.
Instead of filming directly at the actual villa, the crew recreated it at a different location to optimize the cinematic effect. Director Hung Tran said that the film crew thoroughly researched early 20th-century French architecture and materials about the family of businessman Hua Bon Hoa to create the most authentic setting. The fact that the film's events revolve around only one house also put great pressure on the script and the direction. The film "Lau Chu Hoa" will officially premiere nationwide on June 12, 2026.
