The province's OCOP products were selected by consumers at the 2025 Autumn Fair in Hanoi . |
Mandatory standards of the modern market
Most large distribution systems such as WinMart, GO!/BigC, Co.opmart or MM Mega Market currently require agricultural products to have a QR code to trace their origin, providing full information: growing area code, care process, fertilizer, pesticides, harvest date, processing - preparation, quality testing and food safety certification. For retail chains, it is a tool to ensure food safety; for consumers, it is the basis for assessing the reliability and professionalism of the production facility. Therefore, products without QR codes are almost impossible to enter the official distribution channel.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Group 6, Nong Tien Ward shared: "When shopping at Sang Nhung Green Agricultural Products Center, I choose OCOP products here because they all have QR codes, I can see the origin and production process so I feel secure, not worried about fake goods or food safety issues."
In the honey sector, information digitization is also strongly implemented. The Cao Nguyen Da Mint honey product has an electronic traceability stamp, consumers can check directly at hagiangtrace.com before buying. The Po My Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative, General Trade Services (Dong Van commune) is a typical example of effective production - consumption linkage. The cooperative links more than 30 beekeeping households in Dong Van, Pho Bang, Lung Phin, many households raise up to 200 hives. Po My Mint honey product meets OCOP 3 - 4 star standards, aiming at the international market.
Cooperative Director, Ms. Luu Thi Hoa said: "Traceability stamps and QR codes help customers access clear information, building trust in clean agricultural products." Thanks to promoting sales on Postmart, Voso, Lazada, Shopee and cashless payments, the Cooperative's online sales account for 70-80% of total retail sales, reaching 2.5 billion VND/year.
Improve the quality of agricultural products
Tuyen Quang currently has 454 OCOP products (428 3-star products, 24 4-star products and 2 national 5-star products). Applying QR not only helps with production transparency but is also the foundation for brand building, increasing the value of goods and income for people.
Since applying QR codes, many OCOP products have entered the domestic retail chain and gradually approached the world market. Phin Ho Shan Tuyet Tea (Thong Nguyen Commune) is one of the typical products. Ms. Ly Mui Muong, Deputy Director of Phin Ho Tea Processing Cooperative, said that the core factor to retain consumers is still quality. The Cooperative maintains organic farming processes: not using chemical fertilizers or pesticides, maintaining tree canopy to create humidity, planting hedges to retain natural organic fertilizers... according to European organic standards. Thanks to natural production, Phin Ho tea products have become one of the rare national 5-star OCOP products, highly appreciated for their quality and unique flavor.
In fact, QR codes and electronic diaries have become prerequisites for entering large markets. This is not only a management tool but also the key to enhancing reputation, increasing value and expanding the market. With the strong momentum of digital transformation, when cooperatives know how to take advantage of QR codes, data and electronic books, Tuyen Quang agricultural products can completely reach further, be more sustainable, in line with the trend of modern agriculture - transparency - integration.
