According to observations by Thanh Nien reporters in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), the grounds of Tien Son Sports Complex have become an ideal meeting place for flower lovers. The stalls here offer an irresistible variety, from compact bonsai apricot blossom trees suitable for apartment living to "superb" ancient apricot blossom trees.
This year's apricot blossoms are considered to be in full bloom thanks to favorable weather. The petals are thick, the color is vibrant yellow, and the branches are laden with buds, promising to bloom profusely right on the 1st and 2nd days of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse).

The most noteworthy highlight at this year's apricot blossom market is the segment of ancient apricot trees . Mr. Dang Van Vinh (residing in Dien Ban Dong ward, Da Nang city ) impressed many people by displaying apricot trees worth up to half a billion VND.
"With a base price of around 500 million VND, these are trees that are many years old, with gnarled trunks, exposed roots, and extremely beautiful shapes. Although this segment is quite selective in terms of customers, for experienced bonsai enthusiasts, if they find a tree they like, they are willing to spend money," Mr. Vinh shared.
Besides the expensive "masterpieces," the market for more affordable apricot blossom trees is also extremely vibrant.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tai (Hoa Xuan ward) said that small, reasonably priced apricot blossom trees are selling out quickly because they are suitable for townhouses. Currently, he mainly focuses on advising customers to buy larger apricot blossom trees to display in their gardens or office lobbies.
Not only sellers, but buyers also have their own expectations. "Every year I come to Tien Son because there are many nurseries here, making it easy to compare prices and tree shapes. This year, I chose a tree with a medium-sized canopy, and importantly, one that blooms at the right time so I can enjoy it throughout the Tet holiday," shared Ms. Le Thi Hong (Thanh Khe ward).
For Mr. Tran Minh Quan (Cam Le ward), the criteria for choosing apricot blossom trees doesn't necessarily require them to be too large. "What's important is a harmonious shape and evenly blooming flowers. Just seeing the yellow blossoms of the apricot blossoms in the house makes me feel the festive spirit of Tet coming," Mr. Quan shared.
As evening approaches, the atmosphere at Tien Son apricot blossom market becomes even more lively. Laughter, chatter, and bargaining, combined with the shimmering lights, create a characteristic spring scene of the "most livable city." Gardeners expect that from now until Tet (Lunar New Year), purchasing power will continue to increase as the demand for apricot blossoms to celebrate the spring in Da Nang reaches its peak, contributing to a vibrant and warm apricot blossom season.
