Video : Yellow apricot blossoms display their vibrant colors, attracting visitors as Tet approaches.

These days, the central wards of Nghe An province are overflowing with colorful flowers to serve the people celebrating Tet. Among them, the vibrant yellow apricot blossom pots , purchased by gardeners from Phu Yen , Binh Dinh, and other provinces, are attracting a large number of people to visit and choose from.

Mr. Ha Bao Trong (35 years old, from Binh Dinh province), the owner of a Tet flower stall near Ho Chi Minh Square, Truong Vinh ward, Nghe An province, said that this year he brought about 200 pots of apricot blossoms to the market, displayed at 3 locations: Vinh football field, Ho Chi Minh Square, and the 72m road.

“The price of apricot blossom trees this year hasn't fluctuated much compared to last year, ranging from a few hundred thousand to a few tens of millions of dong, depending on the size, shape, and age of the tree. I plan to sell until the 29th of Tet before heading back to my hometown, fearing I won't make it in time for New Year's Eve. Last year, I didn't get home until noon on the 1st day of Tet,” Mr. Trong said.

At the apricot blossom tree stalls along the 72m road, Le Nin Boulevard (Vinh Phu ward), Truong Thi road (Truong Vinh ward), etc., there was a bustling crowd of people. The meticulously shaped apricot blossom trees with large trunks and beautiful forms always attracted the attention of bonsai enthusiasts. Many customers didn't mind traveling long distances, spending hours choosing a satisfactory apricot blossom tree to display during Tet.

Mr. Le Van Thanh (48 years old, residing in Hung Nguyen commune, Nghe An province) said that every year his family buys a potted apricot blossom tree to place in front of their house. “Yellow apricot blossoms symbolize good fortune and prosperity. Seeing the apricot blossoms blooming right during Tet (Lunar New Year) makes the feeling of spring arrive very real. This year I went to several places to find a tree I liked; it cost over 3 million dong, but the flowers are beautiful and there are many buds, so I feel it was worth it,” Mr. Thanh said.

According to many gardeners, to have apricot blossoms bloom at the right time for Tet (Lunar New Year), growers must closely monitor the weather and adjust the care regimen, removing leaves at the right time. Just a few days too early or too late can cause the flowers to bloom at the wrong time, affecting the selling price.

Mr. Nguyen Van Cong, the owner of a flower shop on Truong Thi Street, said: "Currently, purchasing power is mainly concentrated in the mid-range segment, suitable for the budgets of most people. However, with Tet approaching, the number of customers is expected to increase further during peak days, especially from the 25th to the 29th of the 12th lunar month."

Besides large potted apricot blossom trees, this year's market has also seen good demand for mini apricot blossom trees and bonsai apricot blossom trees. With the advantages of being compact, affordable, and easy to display in apartments or townhouses, these types of apricot blossom trees are chosen by many young families.

The bustling atmosphere of buying and selling is also evident in the fact that many customers have to place deposits in advance to reserve beautiful trees. Some uniquely shaped apricot blossom trees with even blooms and many buds are often reserved by customers very early, waiting until closer to Tet to be delivered home.

Along with peach blossoms and kumquats, the golden color of apricot blossoms not only brings vibrant beauty to the streets but also evokes a feeling of warmth and togetherness, heralding the arrival of a new spring.
