
The Union Meal Program has brought warm meals to more than 2.1 million union members and workers.
The Trade Union Meal is an activity organized by trade unions at all levels in coordination with unit heads and employers on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union.
This is an opportunity for the union to care for the workers, an opportunity for all parties to share and listen to their thoughts and aspirations, thereby building trust and attachment between union members and workers towards the union organization and the enterprise.
After more than 2 months of implementation, the program has brought Union meals to more than 2.1 million union members and workers. Total expenditure for Union meals is over 148 billion VND.
According to grassroots union officials, union members and workers, "Union Meal" is not only a simple shift meal, providing material care but also has great spiritual significance, fostering solidarity, sharing and understanding among members of the organization.
Many local and industry reports assessed: "Union Meal" in 2025 has demonstrated the mark and role of the Union organization through dialogue and negotiation to bring better benefits, higher than the provisions of law to workers. Many businesses support 100% of the value of the Union meal.
According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , in 2025, although the number of grassroots unions organizing union meals will decrease, the average amount spent on a meal will be higher.
On average, each meal costs 68,500 VND (in 2024, the average will be 50,300 VND/meal), the value and quality of the meal are significantly improved.
The 2025 Union Meal continues to be more substantial, targeting union members and workers directly involved in production and business in enterprises.
In Bac Ninh , the Union meal was implemented at 508 grassroots unions with more than 253,000 union members or at the Vietnam Bank Union, it was implemented at 554 grassroots unions with 95,157 people.

Most grassroots unions organize union meals at the location where workers eat. For some units that do not have a kitchen, meals are organized at a location convenient for workers to participate.
In addition to the main activity of organizing meals, trade unions at all levels have integrated and organized many meaningful activities such as: giving gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances; giving moon cakes; congratulating and giving birthday gifts to union members whose birthdays are in the month; giving "Union Shelters"...
Through the activities in the program, "Union Meal" has created an atmosphere of connection and understanding between employees and employers.
Many workers trust the trade union organization and voluntarily join the union, contributing to promoting union development work at their units and enterprises.
At the same time, this activity also contributes to promoting propaganda and mobilizing employers to raise awareness, continue to care for, improve the nutrition of shift meals for workers, contribute to ensuring health, regenerating labor, so that workers can work with peace of mind, compete in labor and production.
In 2026, it is expected that the "Union Meal" program will continue to be implemented on a number of occasions such as: Workers' Month, the anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Trade Union (July 28), Lunar New Year...
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor hopes that this program will become a long-term, periodic welfare activity, providing practical care for union members and workers.
