In the early days of the year, the Mang Den mountain pass section passing through Dak Rve commune, Quang Ngai province, becomes the center of attention thanks to the changing leaves of thousands of crape myrtle trees. Amidst the mountain forest, the interwoven shades of green, yellow, red, and orange create a vibrant scene, evoking the feeling of being lost in slow-motion footage of the vast wilderness.

A vibrant tapestry of colors amidst the mountains and forests of Quang Ngai.
Unlike its usual tranquil appearance, during this season, travelers passing through the mountain pass often deliberately slow down to admire the changing vegetation. Young and old leaves intermingle, changing color before they've all fallen, creating unique, layered patches of color, with no two trees alike.
The uneven color transitions make the entire forest seem like a "moving" entity. Each perspective reveals a different color palette, from the vibrant hues of orange and red to the somber shades of yellowing leaves, adding depth to the natural landscape.

Pristine beauty beside a crystal-clear stream.
Viewed from above, the crape myrtle forest stretches along the streams at the foot of the pass, evoking the image of a giant oil painting where nature freely paints its lines. On both sides of the stream, the tall tree trunks cast their reflections onto the crystal-clear water, combined with sections of cascading waterfalls against a backdrop of changing forest colors, highlighting the pristine beauty of the landscape.

A rare opportunity to experience 'cinematic quality'.
According to locals and tourists, the season when the crape myrtle trees shed their leaves lasts only a short time and is highly dependent on weather conditions. This is considered the ideal time to experience a very different side of Mang Den: tranquil yet romantic.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Thuan, a tourist from Da Nang City, shared: "I've been to Mang Den many times, but this is the first time I've seen the crape myrtle forest change color so dramatically. Looking down from the bridge is a feast for the eyes, more like a scene from a movie than real life." Even though he only stayed for a short time, this scenery was enough to leave a strong impression on anyone who visited.
