Taking place on April 28 at the Pavillon Gabriel in Paris, the Prix Épicures de l'Épicerie Fine is an annual event organized by the specialist magazine Le Monde de l'Épicerie Fine, to honor outstanding products in the field of artisanal and fine cuisine . This year, the event brought together more than 140 producers and over 800 guests, including experts, journalists and food lovers from all over Europe.

Proud to represent Vietnamese chocolate on the world map

Surpassing hundreds of famous chocolate brands around the world, Marou's coffee milk chocolate bar received the "World's Best Chocolate 2025" award in the Food category (Trophées Alimentaires).

The product is inspired by a cup of milk coffee - a symbol deeply attached to the life and culture of Vietnamese people. The flavor is a perfect combination of the passionate bitterness of organic robusta coffee, the gentle sweetness of fresh milk, and pure dark chocolate roasted from premium Vietnamese cocoa.

Not only demonstrating creativity in flavor, this award is also a recognition of Marou's persistent journey in elevating local ingredients and combining international standards with traditional Vietnamese values.

This is not the first time Marou has been honored at international awards. From the very beginning, Marou has won many gold, silver and bronze medals from the London Chocolate Academy and the International Chocolate Awards - a testament to its premium quality and unique taste.

Marou wins "Jury's Favorite Packaging" award

Along with the "World's Best Chocolate 2025" award, Marou won the "Coups de cœur du jury" category (Most favourite packaging voted by the jury) for its 55% dark chocolate bar with roasted buckwheat.

The Packaging category at Prix Épicures de l'Épicerie Fine is judged based on criteria including aesthetics, effective brand value communication, materials that demonstrate environmental responsibility, and high practicality.

Marou convinced the jury with its unique and meaningful packaging design, using recycled materials from cocoa pods and duong tree bark. This is not only an environmentally friendly choice but also a symbol of the closed journey of cocoa beans: from the growing area to the finished product.

Marou's packaging is not only beautiful but also contains the story of the origin of raw materials, climate, soil, expressing and paying respect to Vietnamese agriculture , cocoa heritage, the artisanal spirit of the fermenters' hands and the Vietnamese farming community.

Marou has previously won four international packaging design awards, including three from Pentawards, the global packaging design industry awards, and one from The Dieline Awards, which celebrates innovative designs in the consumer industry.

The chocolate collection in collaboration with the National Gallery of Singapore, inspired by the traditional printing technique of Dong Ho folk paintings, has been a big hit.

Celebrating a sourcing-centric approach, artisanal spirit, innovative packaging design

This year, two awards at the Prix Épicures de l'Épicerie Fine 2025 once again confirm Marou's position in the premium chocolate industry, demonstrating the success of Marou's product development strategy, based on three key elements.

Pioneering in sourcing and developing quality raw materials: Marou works directly with local farmers and fermentation experts, not only ensuring premium cocoa quality but also applying sustainable farming methods.

Respecting the philosophy of craft and regional identity: Each cocoa bean is a "storyteller", reflecting the unique characteristics of each land. Marou values the value of each cocoa region and works closely with farmers to select the finest cocoa beans.

Sophisticated Design: Marou’s packaging is more than just a wrapper, it’s part of the story of Vietnam’s cocoa culture, nature and heritage. Each product showcases a harmonious combination of design creativity, natural materials and handcrafted packaging.

The two awards at Prix Épicures de l'Épicerie Fine 2025 are the result of Marou's creativity and celebration of Vietnamese culture in each product. With a sustainable vision and superior quality, Marou continues to bring Vietnamese chocolate to the world, making a strong mark on the international culinary map.
