If you lose your phone that is logged into the VNeID application, the first thing to do is to lock the account on that device. People can directly contact the hotline number 1900.0368 for support to lock the account, preventing others from trying to access it.

Users will receive notifications and be automatically logged out when a bad guy logs in from another device. The reason comes from VNeID's security solution that only allows logging in on a single smartphone.

When you want to log in again on a new device, you will be asked to enter the correct authentication code sent to the VNeID application installed on your old smartphone. This is part of the security solutions to verify that your VNeID account has not been logged in illegally.

Therefore, those who lose or damage their old phones will not be able to receive the confirmation code and complete the conversion. In addition to the above method, to log back in on a new phone or a phone that has just restored the system, users can authenticate using NFC or a chip-attached CCCD.

NFC (Near Field Communication) is a short-range wireless communication technology that allows two devices to exchange data when placed close together (less than 4 cm). This technology is used for many applications such as contactless payments, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, fast data transfer, connecting to peripheral devices such as speakers, headphones, and task automation.

With NFC, VNeID will automatically read and display the activation interface. The system will automatically send an OTP code to the new device and the user only needs to enter this code to complete the login.

Currently, most smartphones from major brands such as iPhone, Samsung, OPPO, Xiaomi,... (from iPhone 6, Galaxy S6 and above) are supported by NFC. Users can go to the Connections section in Settings, check if there is NFC and payment, the phone supports NFC, or ask a consultant before purchasing.

Step 3: The system will display a notification that you are logging in on the new phone, click Confirm. At this time, an authentication code has been sent to the old phone, but because it has been lost, the user continues to click on NFC Authentication with a chip-attached CCCD card.

Step 4: Read the instructions from the system, bring the CCCD card with chip close to the device for identification. After reading successfully, VNeID will automatically send a new OTP code to the new phone number.
