Proof of a strong bond
Reporting on the situation of the Vietnamese community abroad in 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang stated that, with approximately 6.5 million people living in more than 130 countries and territories, the Vietnamese community abroad has not only increased in number but also significantly enhanced its legal status and social prestige in their host countries. The most brilliant highlight is the surge in intellectual resources, with many overseas Vietnamese experts, intellectuals, and entrepreneurs increasingly asserting Vietnam's capabilities on international forums, from state-of-the-art laboratories to leading multinational corporations.

According to Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, in 2025, remittances to Vietnam are expected to reach approximately 18 billion USD, becoming an important economic resource and a vivid testament to the strong bond between overseas Vietnamese and their homeland. This bond is further demonstrated by overseas Vietnamese contributing over 2,300 opinions to the draft Political Report presented at the 14th National Congress of the Party, along with many practical acts of kindness such as donating over 45 billion VND to support compatriots in Vietnam in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
At the meeting, representatives of overseas Vietnamese proposed building a network of overseas Vietnamese youth representatives by region, aiming to strengthen connections, harness the energy of young people, and support the Vietnam Fatherland Front in effectively gathering and utilizing overseas Vietnamese resources, in line with the requirements of deep international integration.

However, our country will still achieve many important and comprehensive results, affirming the leadership role and prestige of the Party, as well as the trust, consensus, and strong support of people at home and abroad, including the Vietnamese community overseas.

Many overseas Vietnamese have achieved success, affirming their position in society, even participating in the politics of their host countries; many have been recognized on the world's intellectual map. Congratulating the outstanding overseas Vietnamese collectives and individuals who were honored, she affirmed that the achievements of overseas Vietnamese are clear evidence of the valuable qualities of the Vietnamese people: perseverance, unwavering resilience, and a spirit of continuous striving in life.
"During the extensive consultation process on the draft Political Report to the 14th National Congress of the Party, the Vietnamese community from all continents contributed over 2,300 heartfelt opinions, demonstrating the responsibility, trust, and expectations of overseas Vietnamese regarding the correct and groundbreaking decisions of the Party and State. The 14th National Congress of the Party also received more than 400 congratulatory letters and telegrams from Vietnamese individuals and organizations abroad. These impressive numbers demonstrate the encouragement and support for the Party and State, vividly reflecting the close ties and solidarity of overseas Vietnamese with the Fatherland. In addition, remittances reached a record high, becoming a huge material resource and making a practical contribution to the country's development; overseas Vietnamese also sent many gifts to support the people in the country in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and difficulties in life," said Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. express.

Affirming that the Party and State of Vietnam always pay special attention to and care for our compatriots abroad, the Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Bui Thi Minh Hoai, stated that the consistent policy of the Party and State affirms that "the Vietnamese community abroad is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation, an important resource of the Vietnamese people."
In realizing the Party's guidelines, in recent years, many specific policies related to overseas Vietnamese have been implemented more comprehensively, synchronously, and vigorously, clearly demonstrating the affection and responsibility of the Party and the State by better meeting the legitimate aspirations and desires of the community. Many legal documents have been issued aimed at creating more favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese when they return to live, work, study, and conduct research in the country.
Throughout history, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has always paid special attention to and highly appreciated the role, voice, and valuable contributions of overseas Vietnamese to the cause of national construction and defense.
In the coming period, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will urgently implement the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party with specific tasks, solutions, programs, and plans to promote the strength of national unity. Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai expressed her belief that overseas Vietnamese across the five continents will continue to look towards the homeland, unite, and actively contribute to building national unity, contributing to building a strong, prosperous, civilized, and happy country; and at the same time continue to accompany the Party and the State on the path of development in the new era.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front called on outstanding representatives of the Vietnamese community abroad, and through them, all overseas Vietnamese, to promote commonalities, awaken the spirit of self-reliance, self-determination, self-confidence, self-strength, and national pride; to build a united and strong overseas Vietnamese community, continuing to accompany the nation from the very beginning of the new era. The Party, State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front hope to continue receiving practical, accurate, and groundbreaking proposals and initiatives from overseas Vietnamese to unlock and effectively utilize the enormous resources of the overseas Vietnamese community in various fields, especially science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, knowledge economy, digital economy, green economy, and circular economy; thereby making practical contributions to the cause of national construction and defense, aiming towards the goal of Vietnam becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045.

Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Bui Thi Minh Hoai, requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to continue building on the achievements and more decisively implement the work of supporting and caring for the overseas Vietnamese community; both meeting the legitimate aspirations of overseas Vietnamese and creating motivation for them to continue making positive contributions to the cause of national construction and development.
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to carry out activities to contact, exchange information, understand the thoughts and aspirations, and support the Vietnamese community abroad; research and incorporate the recommendations of overseas Vietnamese; and coordinate with central and local ministries and agencies to more effectively implement work related to overseas Vietnamese, meeting the requirements of national development in the new situation as well as the growth in scale and diversity of the overseas Vietnamese community.
On this occasion, the leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals of overseas Vietnamese to recognize their achievements and contributions in mobilizing and uniting overseas Vietnamese to participate in emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
