Dear leaders, teachers, parents and students!
During his lifetime, Prime Minister Pham Van Dong once wrote: "Teaching is the noblest of all noble professions." If someone says that teachers are like ferrymen who carry passengers across the river, then these are dedicated and responsible ferrymen. They have carried heavy ferries full of knowledge, overcoming storms to bring the boat to the future. A teacher's life carries countless ferries, the passengers arrive safely but still remember the precious loyal ferryman. Over time, every successful person always remembers the teachers who have given us wings to fly far in the sky of knowledge.
November 20 has a very good history, a source of pride for progressive teachers in the world in general and Vietnamese teachers in particular.
In 1982, following the wishes of the people and teachers, the Council of Ministers (now the Government) issued Decision No. 167 to make November 20th every year "Vietnam Teachers' Day". The first celebration was solemnly held at Ba Dinh Square - Hanoi. This decision expressed the Party and State's viewpoint on the position and role of teachers in the cause of training the new generation, building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
In recognition of their achievements, in 1985, the President of the State Council signed a decree establishing the Ho Chi Minh Prize, the State Prize, and the titles "People's Teacher" and "Excellent Teacher" for those with outstanding achievements in education.
43 years have passed since the birth of the Vietnamese Teachers' Day. After each anniversary, the entire education sector is encouraged and motivated to overcome difficulties, compete to teach well, practice pure qualities, and become "a shining example for students to follow". This is also an opportunity for all levels, sectors, organizations, people and generations of students to turn to the education sector with the most respectful and sincere feelings.
Towards the 43rd anniversary of Vietnam Teachers' Day in 2025, under the leadership of the Party, the teaching staff of schools have strived to compete to achieve results. Remembering Uncle Ho's advice: "No matter how difficult it is, try to compete to teach well - study well", the teachers have overcome difficulties and built strong schools.
Parents contributed wholeheartedly, teachers and students applied information technology in teaching, contributing to the implementation of the school year's tasks. Many good-grade flowers and creative online lessons showed the precious feelings for teachers.
Every year, when November 20th comes, we are filled with emotions about the memories of our beloved school. That is the traditional beauty of "respecting teachers" of the Vietnamese people. Our parents gave birth to us, but our teachers enlightened our souls, imparted knowledge, and helped us become good people. The teachers' gratitude is great, as our ancestors reminded us:
"If you want to go across, build the Kieu bridge.
"If you want your children to be good at reading and writing, you must love their teachers."
There is a profession where chalk dust sticks to hands
People say it is the noblest profession.
There is a profession that does not plant trees in the ground.
But bloom for life fragrant flowers.
In recent years, the education career has received attention from the Party, the government and the people, with spacious facilities and modern equipment. All of this has created a competitive movement, with all sectors taking care of education, and every household supporting the career of educating people to develop.
November 20th this year is so joyful, the greatest joy is living in an educational environment filled with love and sharing from the Party, government, departments and people.
Respecting teachers is a beautiful trait of a nation with thousands of years of civilization. On November 20, this is an opportunity for generations of students to "repay" their teachers' kindness, to express their gratitude to the silent ferrymen. Exciting competition activities: teachers diligently work on lesson plans, innovative teaching conferences; students compete in making cards, performing arts, folk games, sports... promise a meaningful festival.
Looking forward to the 43rd anniversary, teachers are more proud of the industry's tradition, striving to overcome challenges, fulfilling the task of educating the younger generation, contributing to brightening the national culture today and tomorrow.
I wish you good health, happiness and success in your career of educating people! May your education career continue to grow!
Best regards!

Dear teachers, parents and students!
In the bustling atmosphere of the whole country towards the Teachers' Charter Day, let us together review the fine tradition of "Respecting teachers and valuing education" to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnam Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025). This is an opportunity for the whole society to express deep gratitude and appreciation to those who have been tirelessly dedicating themselves to the cause of "cultivating people".
November 20th every year has become a milestone in the hearts of the nation, a festival for the entire education sector. 43 years ago, following the wishes of teachers and the entire people, the Council of Ministers (now the Government) issued Decision No. 167-HDBT to make November 20th Vietnam Teachers' Day. This demonstrates the deep concern of the Party, the State and the whole society for the position and role of the teaching staff - the soul engineers, the people who lay the foundation for the sustainable development of the country.
The tradition of “Respecting teachers and valuing education” is a beautiful cultural trait of our nation for thousands of years. Since ancient times, talented people such as Chu Van An, Nguyen Binh Khiem… have become shining examples of morality and knowledge. Today, in the process of innovation and integration, the Vietnamese teaching staff continues to inherit and promote that tradition, constantly striving to train and innovate to train generations of global citizens, contributing to building and protecting the Fatherland.
On this occasion, we would like to send our best wishes and deepest gratitude to all generations of teachers - those who have guided and educated generations of students to adulthood. Wherever they are, in any circumstances, teachers are always dedicated to their profession, love their students like their own children, overcome all difficulties to "nurture green shoots" for the future of the country.
That silent dedication deserves to be honored and recognized by society. Every good lecture, every white chalk, every red pen stroke on the lesson plan contains so much enthusiasm, intelligence and love. The merit of teachers is boundless, deeply imprinted in the memory and luggage of every student.
Promoting the tradition of the past 43 years, the entire education sector continues to promote the campaign "Each teacher is a model of morality, self-study and creativity" and the emulation movement "Innovation and creativity in management, teaching and learning". The teaching staff constantly learns and improves their professional qualifications and skills, meeting the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training in the new period.
To follow in the footsteps of our teachers, each of us students should show our gratitude through the most concrete and practical actions: studying hard, cultivating morality, respecting teachers, and helping friends. The flowers of good grades, excellent academic achievements and daily growth of our students are the most meaningful gifts to our teachers.
Parents and the whole society should join hands, share, support, and create the best conditions for teachers to work with peace of mind and dedication.
The 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day is an opportunity for us to look back on the past, be proud of our achievements and together look forward to a brighter future for our country's education career.
Once again, on behalf of all students and parents, we would like to wish our teachers – the silent ferrymen – good health, happiness, enthusiasm and more success in their noble career of educating people!
Best regards!
