Established in 1994, starting with a charter capital of 20 billion VND and 25 initial employees, MB has now risen to become one of the top 5 banks in the market (Big 5). In 2019, MB joined the club of businesses achieving 10,000 billion VND in profit. Just six years later, by 2025, MB's profit exceeded 34.2 trillion VND, three times higher than in 2019. A significant milestone in 2024 is MB officially joining the group of 5 banks with total assets exceeding 1 trillion VND, and in 2025, total assets are expected to reach 1.6 trillion VND.

MB has been building a comprehensive digital financial ecosystem comprising eight member companies operating effectively in various fields: Banking (MBCambodia, MBV), MBCapital, securities (MBS), investment fund management (MBCapital), insurance (MIC), life insurance (MB Life), debt management and asset recovery (MBAMC), and consumer finance (Mcredit). Each member company is a crucial piece, helping MB build a closed financial value chain.

In 2025, member companies' profits are projected to grow by 61%, with MBCapital increasing its assets under management by 67%, Mcredit achieving top 3 market share in credit, MB's Bancas and MBLife ranking top 1 and top 2 respectively, MBS reaching top 7 in brokerage market share, and MIC ranking in top 4 in non-life insurance market share.

MB is also a bank that has undergone strong digital transformation, comprehensively achieving its goals in science, technology, and digital transformation. Belonging to the Big 5 in Vietnam, MB has achieved many accomplishments that affirm its number one position in the market in the field of digital transformation, such as: MB operates two large digital platforms, BIZ MBBank, serving over 258,000 businesses, and the MBBank App, serving the largest number of users in Vietnam – reaching 35 million people. With a standard-level investment in information technology and a strategy to attract customers within a diverse digital ecosystem, MB has maintained sustainable customer growth year after year. The number of MB customers increased 13 times in just 5 years, the clearest evidence of the dynamism stemming from MB's digital strategy.

MB is one of the banks with the largest digital transaction volume in the market, with over 99% of transactions conducted through digital channels, totaling more than 12.4 billion transactions annually. This reflects the stable, smooth, and efficient operation of MB's digital banking system. Revenue from digital channels accounts for 50% of the system's total revenue.

Sharing his vision for 2026, Major General Luu Trung Thai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated: “In 2026, MB aims to increase total assets by 22% and credit by 25%. In addition, MB will focus on mobilizing low-cost and sustainable capital, maintaining good efficiency and safety indicators, and ensuring a non-performing loan coverage ratio of over 100%.”
