Mercedes-Benz S580e 2026 debuts in Southeast Asia, waiting to return to Vietnam
Mercedes-Benz recently launched the upgraded version of the luxury sedan S580e, part of the S-Class W223 line in the Southeast Asian market and is expected to soon arrive in Vietnam.

In terms of design, the new Mercedes-Benz S580e 2026 still retains the familiar luxurious style of the S-Class line, but has added some details to distinguish it from the old version. The most noticeable is the 20-inch multi-spoke forged rims, replacing the previous 19-inch type. The 2026 Mercedes-Benz S580e luxury sedan has the EQ Hybrid logo on both sides, in line with Mercedes-Benz's restructuring of its EV and PHEV vehicle portfolio, despite the lengthy name "with EQ Hybrid Technology".
The exterior of the car has not changed much in general, the car continues to maintain its minimalist style with a series of high-end equipment such as Digital Light, pop-out door handles, suction doors and panoramic sunroof. The cabin of the 2026 S580e has been refined to improve the everyday driving experience. The center console is finished in a crystalline-look material instead of piano black, which helps reduce fingerprints. Another notable upgrade is that the front seats are now ventilated, matching the rear seats. The list of equipment on the car is still very complete with a 12.3-inch 3D clock cluster, a 12.8-inch vertical OLED screen, front and rear wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connection and 15-speaker Burmester 3D sound. One strange point is that the car still does not have a HUD, which is quite rare on a top-of-the-line sedan.
In the rear business class, customers are equipped with Executive seats with ottomans, massage function extending down to the calves, dual 11.6-inch entertainment screens, wireless headphones and a 7.4-inch control tablet. Electric sun blinds, active backlighting and electric luggage compartment door continue to be retained. Powering the car is a PHEV powertrain that combines a 3.0L I6 turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor for a total output of 510 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. This powertrain comes with a 9G-Tronic transmission and Airmatic air suspension. Rear-wheel steering is added, but the steering angle stops at 4.5 degrees – lower than the top-spec version. The 2026 S580e supports DC fast charging up to 60 kW, allowing the 28.6 kWh battery pack to be fully charged in just 30 minutes. With 11 kW AC charging, it takes about 2–2.5 hours to reach 80% battery. The pure electric range remains at 100 km WLTP.
In terms of safety equipment, the new S580e continues to be equipped with 14 airbags along with a 360-degree camera system and integrated camera recording feature. The car also has a Driving Assistance package including features such as: advanced automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-go function, lane keeping assist and features of the Pre-Safe and Pre-Safe Impulse Side systems.
