According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, on January 25-26, the North will continue to experience cold weather, with severe cold in mountainous areas, but temperatures are expected to increase by 1-2 degrees each day compared to January 24. Specifically, the lowest temperatures in the Northern Delta region during this period will be 13-15 degrees, the highest 17-19 degrees, while in mountainous areas they will range from 9-12 degrees, with the highest 15-17 degrees.
Over these two days, the northern region will continue to experience cloudy, overcast weather, with fog in the early mornings and scattered light rain during the night and morning, intensifying the feeling of coldness.
From the night of January 26th and throughout January 27th, the northeastern region of Vietnam and Thanh Hoa province will experience a weak, eastward-shifting cold front. Therefore, there will be rain, with scattered light showers. Temperatures on January 27th will be quite low, similar to those of January 25th and 26th.

Forecasts indicate that from around January 28-30, the North will experience sunny weather, ending a series of cloudy, overcast days with scattered light rain. Temperatures will rise slightly, with lowest temperatures ranging from 15-17 degrees Celsius and highest from 21-23 degrees Celsius, lower in mountainous areas.
However, around January 30th, the North will experience another strong cold front. Due to the influence of this cold front, the North will experience scattered light rain on January 30th and 31st, and temperatures will drop by 3-4 degrees compared to the previous days.
Due to the influence of two consecutive cold fronts, the area from Quang Tri to Da Nang , and the eastern part of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces (formerly Binh Dinh) experienced rain, showers, and thunderstorms in some areas on January 28-29 and January 31-February 2. The Thanh Hoa - Nghe An area experienced prolonged cold weather.
Northern Vietnam is currently experiencing the peak of this year's cold season. According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, this year's cold air mass is weaker than the multi-year average. Nevertheless, during the peak period from the latter half of January to the end of February 2026, the North will still experience widespread and short-lived periods of intense cold and frost.
