Southern region increased by 4,000 VND/kg

Northern region

The price of live pigs today (January 5, 2025) in the Northern region recorded stability in the last session of the week. Currently, the price of live pigs in this region is fluctuating between 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

Of which, Hanoi and Bac Giang continue to maintain the highest live pig price in the country at 69,000 VND/kg. Ninh Binh has the lowest live pig price in the region at 67,000 VND/kg. The remaining localities in the region are trading live pig prices at 68,000 VND/kg.

Central Highlands region

Similarly, the price of live pigs today (January 5, 2025) in the Central Highlands region recorded no price adjustment in the provinces and cities. Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central Highlands region fluctuates between 64,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

Lam Dong province continues to have the highest price of live pigs in the region, at 69,000 VND/kg. Next are Thanh Hoa, Binh Thuan , and Dak Lak provinces, with the same purchase price of 68,000 VND/kg. The remaining provinces have live pig prices ranging from 65,000 - 67,000 VND/kg.

Southern region

In contrast to the above two regions, the price of live pigs in the Southern region today (January 5, 2025) continued to record an increase in prices. Kien Giang and Tra Vinh provinces both increased by 3,000 VND/kg to 67,000 VND/kg and Tien Giang increased by 4,000 VND/kg to 68 VND/kg.

Thus, currently, the price of live pigs in the Southern region is fluctuating between 64,000 - 69,000 VND/kg, equal to that in the North and Central regions. Of which, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh provinces have the highest price of live pigs in the region, both reaching 69,000 VND/kg. On the contrary, Tien Giang and Tra Vinh have the lowest price in the country at 64,000 VND/kg. The remaining provinces fluctuate between 65,000 and 67,000 VND/kg.

In general, the live hog market today has slowed down in the North and Central regions, while the South has seen a sharp increase in prices in the provinces and cities. A survey shows that live hogs nationwide are being traded at around 64,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.
