According to information, Mr. Phan Van Thoi (51 years old) and his wife Pham Thi Nhu Thuy (40 years old), in Hoa My commune, Dak Lak province, were swept away by floodwaters while trying to escape with their youngest child.
Mr. Thoi and his wife passed away, leaving behind three children, including Phan Tien Thinh, a fourth-year student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, and Phan Tan Phu, a second-year student at Lac Hong University.

Faced with this great loss, the Board of Directors of both schools promptly intervened, each school providing 15 million VND for funeral arrangements. At the same time, both schools decided to exempt all tuition fees for Thinh and Phu during their time at the school.
In addition, Lac Hong University commits to supporting Phu with internship and job opportunities after graduation, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education will also prioritize introducing suitable jobs to Thinh.
The Youth Union - Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education is also surveying other cases of students severely affected by floods to propose immediate support.
Lac Hong University also launched a fundraising campaign across the university, calling on staff, lecturers and students to join hands to support families affected by storms and floods. As of November 23, the amount of donations had reached more than 145 million VND.
In addition, Tien Phong reported that universities in the South are making a list of students whose families were affected by the recent flood to have immediate and long-term support plans.
This is a humane action, demonstrating the school's high responsibility towards students and the community in the post-flood period.
