On the morning of November 27 in Beijing, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang and Deputy Director General of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) Trieu Tang Lien signed a Protocol on exporting fresh jackfruit from Vietnam to China.
The signing ceremony took place within the framework of Minister Tran Duc Thang's second working day in China (November 26-28), with the participation of leaders of units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
In his opening speech, Mr. Trieu Tang Lien emphasized the long-standing, friendly and good cooperative relationship between the two countries. 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations, with many high-level exchanges and delegation activities.

According to the Deputy Director General of GACC, two-way agricultural trade is showing many positive signs. By the end of October 2025, China had imported 8.7 billion USD worth of agricultural products from Vietnam, clearly demonstrating the close cooperation between the two sides.
Mr. Trieu Tang Lien affirmed that China always attaches importance to agricultural trade with Vietnam and is ready to open its doors to quality products. This year, we have signed 4 Protocols on chili, passion fruit, rice bran and raw bird's nest. Today, the signing of the Protocol on fresh jackfruit will create new momentum for agricultural trade between the two countries.

On the Vietnamese side, Minister Tran Duc Thang expressed his delight at the progress in cooperation with GACC. The Minister said that the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam always attach importance to promoting comprehensive cooperation with China, especially in the fields of agriculture and environment. Bilateral trade turnover in the first 10 months of 2025 has exceeded the total turnover for the whole year of 2024 - showing the important role of the Chinese market for Vietnam.
At the meeting, specialized units of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and GACC exchanged many technical contents related to the import and export of agricultural, forestry and fishery products. The Minister emphasized that the two sides need to continue to strengthen cooperation and take advantage of the border to promote trade and investment.
Minister Tran Duc Thang thanked GACC for its close coordination, creating conditions for the two sides to sign the Protocol on fresh jackfruit export, an important milestone helping to expand the list of Vietnamese agricultural products to access the billion-people market.
